Wild spin there! Perhaps a demonstration of both why the Stratos was so feared and respected as a rally car in the day, and why the Stratos and 037 ended up being replaced with a more stable mid engined car! I can attest to the glory of a mid-engined turbo machine, as I enjoyed my MR2 Turbo immensely. Obviously, not quite as quick as this beast though!
I am still learning to drive the Stratos again, its been about 15 years since my first stratos (400+ Bhp) met a fiery end & this was the first time I had been able to explore the limits of the car. The spin was on the second lap after I turned the boost up to full power & I got on the power too soon and looking at the video, it looks like i lifted slightly, which was the wrong thing to do smile

That was the only spin of the day for me, but More Practice needed.

That's very very nice.

One little question, the rear lights, what are they?
The reason behind asking is I'm building a GT40 replica and they typically use Stratos lights as they're nearly identical to the originals but I'm after a set of LED tail lights, ideally with the same pattern as the GT40/Stratos (ie indicator in one half, stop/tail in the other with reflector in the middle).
The Rear lights are the same size as the Stratos ones (140mm), but the centre bar is the indicator with the stop/tail above and below & no reflector, so not exactly what you are looking for.

Maker is Dasteri DSL-8080/1807

Nice videos! Engine sounds a lot better on full boost btw!

(now go home and write out the following 50 times: I will not lift off when going sideways......... ;-)
Cheers - the extra horsepower makes a big difference as well!!

The last run of the day that I did was the quickest (obviously) and I found myself needing 5th gear on the run up to the chicane (probably touching 135 or 140 mph before breaking where all day I haddnt even hit the limiter in 4th, so only doing 125-130....

Of course for this run the video camera had gone flatfrown

As for the not lifting off - writing it down wont help, I need to convince my brain not to smile more practice is needed, so I better get another track day booked when I get home from work again....
