Remap finally completed on Monday this week. Simon at Emaps did it in the end. Totally transformed how it drives now. It’s like a different car. Went out afterwards and data logged it, the new intercooler has made a massive difference in intake temps. Well worth the money.

Out with the old.

In with the new.

Looks a good ugrade that pal; did EMaps come out to you or did you go to them?

I'm looking to get a Stage 1 and box remap come the New Year on my F31; so looking for suggestions local to Preston etc
He came to me. My mate had his F31 320D done at the same time so we did a bit of a deal wink
Big difference on F31 too. Loads better now. It’s how they should have been from the factory. Mine took a bit longer as he removed the ECU from it. Mates car is manual so just a basic engine map.

It now behaves more like the twinscroll turbo I had in the Legacy. Almost no lag now from low down and no need to change down to 2nd on slower corners. I found previously that using 3rd would leave it in a dead spot and you’d need to change to 2nd to get moving. It feels more petrol like now. Glad I got it done. It’s a really big improvement over standard.

Tyres arrived and mounted now. Will try and fit them later today once the rains stops. Will jet wash/scrub all the arches while the wheels are off. I’ll then give the ones coming off another ceramic coating before storing them away.

Suspension upgrade time. The Koni/H&R that’s fitted at the moment is just too low/firm for daily duties. The under tray catches on nearly all speed bumps and it’s not really suitable for the current state of the roads. Nice on a smooth road surface, crashy on everything else.
Incoming, Alpina D3 Biturbo kit. I downloaded the Alpina catalogue and compiled the numbers which comprises of the following.
Front shocks: 31316786013/4
Dampers: 31336783481
Gaskets: 3133138
Spacers: 3133137
Guide supports: 3133131/2
Rear shocks: 33526772926
Dampers: 33506773629

Just need to confirm the springs. Sachs are showing as 993256 and 994476.

I’ll match them up with new Sachs top mounts too.

Yes, the Alpina kit uses the B4’s. Should give a much nicer ride. Not even the motorways have a good, even surface now. The M6 between Warrington and Standish is shocking.
Will check for the Sachs items. The VW garage across the road from me does me trade rates, so might be as cheap to get them from him. Will cross reference the numbers tomorrow and make sure I get the right items.

Another clean MOT today. Passed no issues. Springs landed this morning too. Just need to order the bump stops, gaskets and fixings. Gaskets look like BMW parts only. Will double check.

More parts just landed from Germany this morning. Ended up with a full Bilstein kit instead of Sachs top mounts. One order and all came together with the lower mounts and bump stops.

Will ring Grinspeed once I know I have everything. Try and strip the rear trim out for him before taking it. Saves a bit of messing around. Although he’ll be a lot quicker doing it so might be easier to just let him do it.
