Yes, I'd remove the Jaguar item from the bonnet before driving it, it's an easy stop for a 'dangerous mascot' offence. Lovely looking car though, and a top class interior.

I've heard back from an independent Jaguar mechanic and he says the secondary tensioners have cracked and the upper timing chain has stretched. He's going to replace them - does anyone know what the usual cost for this sort of job is?

Strong anti-mascot feelings here! I wouldn't have put one on myself, but now it's on I don't fancy removing it. There seem to be quite a few Jaguars about with those mascots on the bonnet. Do the police generally turn a blind eye to them?
