Will it be logged as cat c or cat d or whatever cat rating it is they give?

I wouldn't have thought it would have been catogerised as anything as its not been written off, it's just been repaired!

It's just like if you have a small bump and a repair follows, the car isn't written off! Hopefully be the same for mine! biggrin

It would only be allocated as Cat C or D had the insurers written it off and paid out to the owner. The car is being repaired so it'll not be categorised as anything.

Having it stolen must be bad enough, but having people jump up and down on it just does not compute. Why? They obviously have nothing whatsoever worthwhile in their lives and hopefully never will.

I hope you have many more happy miles to come OP.

yikes

Besides for the slightly different rums, that could be my car! I'd go all Harry Brown on their asses!

Sorry to see that dude, what a beauty. Hopefully everything is restored to perfect.

Sorry to hear about your car.

You seem happy to take it back so hopefully everything will be how it should be when its returned and you can continue with your planned mods and enjoy the car.

Even though panels have been replaced and completely resprayed, make sure you have a really good look over it before signing to say you are happy with the work. If not, push them and refuse to take the car until all is spot on.

I have been on the receiving end of a car that had extensive damaged with a full respray and the repairs had not been done to an accceptable level. I took the car but would not sign a satisfaction notice until I had fully checked it out. Over the coming months, the car was in and out of their premises as I found more and more faults they had missed / not done properly which resulted in the insurance company buying the car off me.

I echo the above.

Perhaps check the paint thickness, too.

Yup,

Panel gaps, paint runs, excessive 'orange peel', contaminates in the laquer, all seals replaced properly, black glue all over the interior, headlining falling off while you are driving, the list goes on.

If its been rolled, check the engine, might find your airbox filled up with oil and plumes of blue smoke coming out the back of your exhaust. Screen wash could be empty, empty petrol tank that when uprighted after an accident, was half full, the list goes on.

Maybe, if you are really unlucky, the shade of blue you have now might just come back a noticably different one ie Your car was a mid gray colour and it comes back gunmetal and when you have the car checked over, the main dealers and independent but approved bodyshop say without prompting " never seen one that shade before" ;-)

Well today is the day i get it back, hopefully!! Ill be spending a good while with the car before i sign anything to make sure im 100% happy with it. From the looks of the repairs on the pictures i doubt there will be anything wrong, but im not taking a chance.

It feels like my birthday and christmas rolled into 1 !! biggrin
