Where are they now?......They shouldn't have rotted as they are galvanised bodies.
I had a 100 Turbo saloon H reg and ran it for 160k trouble free miles over three years, a lovely car.
Only found out afterwards that it had been breathed on by Audi Rally boys as it had started out as the Audi GB Finance Directors car for its first 8k miles after which I bought it for a song. The boost guage was always showing 2 to 3 bar and it wouldnt run at all with the turbo pipe disconnected.
Used to regularly do 140 on the continent and occasionally 130 plus on the M42..............
I would love one now as I honestly think it was the best car I ever owned.
Cheers,
Tony

I really want an S2 Avant, but they've appreciated to a ridiculous level over the last 3 or so years. I nearly bought a ropey but perfectly servicable coupé for £2,800 back in about 2011- now you see cars advertised as "spares or repair" for double that!

The bigger surprise is the fuel tank is severely corroded and wouldn't pass an MOT, which it surprisingly did on the 8th of July this year. So apart from buying a new one from Audi at a cost of £1,017, I'll be finding a 2nd hand part or having it refurbished.
Woof! A bag for a fuel tank? It would be cheaper to get one custom made from stainless steel.ManOpener said:
I reckon the scrappage scheme got most of the older Audis. It's a shame, as I've always have a bit of soft spot for the 90 in particular.
Scrappage got those that weren't killed by the cost of parts or wonky electrics; Avants were rarer than a rare thing anyway so rarity came as standard. Preserving originality isn't ever going to make you rich so you might as well succumb and fit something fruity with a turbo.Edited by hidetheelephants on Saturday 3rd October 01:22
