/\ probably due to what it's standing on, but that looks more like a small scale model rather than a full size car body.

I was hoping someone asked me where I got a metal body for a TVR ! I have some of the real car paint left so I'm going to try and make this model a mini version of the real thing.

The bigger version is off to a specialist for a spanner check and to diagnose a misfire ( looks like it's connected to an injector problem ). Then it's MOT time woohoo

Looks like an interesting project. I imagine that getting the miniature V8 to work will be the tricky part biggrin

Quick update to try to prevent me from pulling what's left of my hair out !

First the good news - car is MOT'd and taxed - finally off the SORN !

Then the bad news. I'd given the car to Colin at TVRSSW to try to sort out the engine issues. The non-idling was down to a leak at one of the injector seals. I would never have found that so hats off to Colin. The induction backfires are still happening though. Two carbon fibre plenums have bit the dust in all this shenanigans. I went back to the original metal plenum until the problem can be sorted and that's what's on it at the moment.

From what I understand the ECU seems to be losing timing during cranking. Battery voltage drop has been ruled out. Current theory is that it is something up with the MS ECU itself. The supplier will be looking at it this Friday so hopefully it can be finally sorted out.

This is so frustrating, I've probably missed the good weather now. Slim chance of getting to a TVR trackday this year and I missed the deadline for a RideDrive course which was bought for me last year.

At least I've got something to tinker with in the meantime. I've embraced Bangernomics. The 2007 A4 Diesel S-Line Quattro Avant is going. I've bought a 2001, 100K miler Subaru Legacy Outback with the 3.0L petrol for £1200 and it's brilliant ! I just need to clean out the smell of ciggies and wet dog. My daughter and missus love it. She can scratch the bumpers and kerb the alloys as much as she likes and I don't give a hoot smile

Glad the TVR is getting back on the road.

Funnily enough, I've just bought a 2001 130K miler Subaru Outback H6 3.0 so that I can stop driving my TVR in the bad weather, must admit that the fuel consumption seems to be not much better than the TVR. Top Banging driving

They do like their unleaded, that's for sure ! Mind you I've saved £10K between the two cars so that should pay for a few top-ups.

So more of an update on old Trev. The backfiring problem seems to have been sorted. It was either a leaking injector or a fault with the start-up settings in the MS....or a combination of the two. Bit hacked off as I paid 200 quid for a base map done on a bench dyno and 160 quid for the injectors to be cleaned and matched (whatever that means). Add to that the cost of two CF plenums blown to smithereens and Colin's diagnosis time then top it all off with the frustration of having the car off the road for an additional 2-3 months - well, let's say I'm not happy today.

Hopefully I can pick it up this week so the next post will be the last, and with a bit of luck I'll have a video of my run back from Dorset.

Cheers and thanks for all the support

Just to polish off this thread, here's a couple of videos of the car on the road. The engine is running in so I'm keeping the revs low. All good so far - just a wayward tax disc holder to worry about !
