Just thought you guys might like a looky at my Alp, had alot of work done over the last year to get her back to pristine condition.

Spec. -
1989 GTA V6 Turbo

Repainted Audi Moonlight Blue pearl

Engine - Brand new Safrane 3.0 litre Biturbo engine (German market only), turned inline, running a custom built T38 blower, Carbon fibre airbox, custom chargecooler, big injectors, Adaptronic ECU, unsilenced exhaust. Mapped to 1.2 bar.

Transmission - standard but rebuilt 5 speed 'box, A610 clutch

Suspension - Spax Coilovers all round

Brakes - Uprated discs and pads and braided hoses all round

Wheels - AZEV A's 7.5 and 10 x 17 with Goodyear rubber, centres colour coded, polished outer rim

Interior - Retrimmed in grey alcantara and black leather, nice Alpine audio set up, custom carbon trim items.

Owned 22 years and its been hard work at times, but seeing her look so good now I'm glad I persevered!

Comments welcome.

I'm not too sure I like the interior but you can only do so much with what Renault gave you in plastic dashboard. It looks fantastic from the outside.

I had a R20 2.7 V6 a long long time ago and have always thought that engine belongs in a sportscar. I seem to remember paying £450 for new (pattern parts, not Renault) cams and followers over quarter of a century ago. How me and my wife laughed as I rebuilt the top end frown

Keep up the good work!

Seriously cool!

The only thing that would annoy me is the font of the numberplates but then again it's not my car so what do I know!

very nice, compliments on keeping the ousside so undestated. Love the 80s interior, especially the offset gearlever. Just remember i've got an original brochure of these somewhere, gonna look it up today and enjoy this French quirkiness... tongue out thanks for posting your car!

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I have tried to keep everything understated because I like the basic shape so much. Lots of subtle mods that unless you had one you wouldn't realise. Am building another one as a daily driver at the moment (very much a budget project this one). Got it cheap so didn't mind investing a few grand in her. Built with another version of the PRV6 but just injected this time. 2.9i with a few mods to give 180bhp but should be capable of 35+ mpg. Gone for a controversial colour - Storm grey (ala Clio 200) with matt black trim and AZEV M's with matt black centres. We do alot of long distance trips with the club and with the price of petrol! Also the turbo fails noise regs most places so handy for a few trackdays too.

Thats pretty pukka that! Lovely car, me and my dad have been thinking about one of these for a while, hes always had a thing for them when one came screaming past him late night with him in his gtv6. Only thing I would change is all silver wheels but pretty minor really.

Would usually agree on the plates, but in this case I think at least the rear looks quite good cos it matches the font of the model badging/stickers well.

Have always had a thing for these after I did a weeks work experience at my local renault dealership and the owner had one. In fact he still has it now and offered it to me the other day for £4.5k. Am seriously tempted but can't justify it right now having just moved house. Has even got the correct bbs 3-piece rims!

Would absolutely love a Le Mans version complete with phwat arches!

The dash is very much "of its time" hehe - but you've done a corking job.

Personally I prefer silver alloys, but I love it!

Very lovely car there.
Such a shame you can't get those Azev's anymore ,I would buy some for my car.
Some questions for you as I'm still planning the modifications to my engine.
Have you used the standard exhaust manifold on your engine?
Is your chargecooler in place of the intercooler as I can't see it in the pictures.

Best regards,

Bert
