Long time lurker small time poster here. Though this would be a good place to start (cant see a "im new" section anywhere lol).

So this is my car, a 2003 Fabia vRS. I`v had it for 4/5 years now, one previous owner, well looked after etc. The first few years it was totally stock due to insurance costs (young driver), but over the past year or two I have managed a few "tweaks" to make it my own.

So, the spec as it currently stands:
PD130 1.9 8v TDi
Turbo Dynamics PD150 Hybrid
Seatsport FMIC
PD160 intake/Pipercross filter
Full Piper exhaust system
Unit 18 remap
Standard (early) 6 speed box
Sachs uprated clutch & SMF
KW V1 Coilovers
Brembo 323 Front brake setup
Octavia 256mm Rear brake setup

Team Dynamic Pro Race 3 wheels
Colour coded front grill
Tinted rear lights
Rear window tints
"pastyboy" custom badges
OEM projector/xenon headlights
Momo team 300 Steering wheels
Retrofitted Factory Satnav/MFD
JBL Front speakers

Some pictures that I have on the laptop, some filthy ones, only recently gained a driveway so its much easier to keep it clean in winter now . . .

Due a clean

Nowhere near as fast, beautiful or exotic as many cars on here (many I spotted at the weekend at Silverstone) but it is a kinda jack of all trades. The chunk of torque it puts out makes good fun to drive but also manages to be cheap to run, good MPG on a run and cheap tax/insurance. I have a few plans in the pipe line, new seats, new wheels and some other little bits.

C&C welcome!

Looks really good! Especially in black with white wheels. Was thinking of getting one myself, but the diesel sound wasnt to my liking.

Like that. You've done all the mods I'd have done to mine had I kept it. TBH as standard they are very underwhelming, but I can imagine yours is a hoot.

If I ever find myself in a job with a bit of a commute, one of these will be on my drive - I love 'em.

I dont mind the wheels, but if you're going for Octy vRS wheels, the Mk1 wheels are much nicer than those ^

Thanks for the comments guys.

The sound of the engine is something there is no getting away from lol. It's very van/mini cab on idle. Thankfully the exhaust helps mask the rattling once it's moving. Standard the map is frankly awful, they seriously benefit from a remap, even just to smooth the power out.

As for the wheels, I originally wanted them in dark grey/anthracite but the only place I could get them were stupid money. So I just got them in white, thought I'd run them for a bit and spray them later. Iv since found some other wheels I like so I'll keep these for track time. Those MK2 Octavia wheels would need adapters, plus IMO look awful. The MK1 Octavia wheels looked great (I had a set a while back) but every fabia had them on and won't go over the brembo's without spacers. The set iv found should clear the front brakes and hopefully get away from the slightly chavy look of these TD's.

Thanks again guys!

Nothing major changed here with the Fabia. Winter mode has been engaged, my old S3 wheels have gone back on, shod with some tyres slightly better suited to winter than the Yokos. Gave her a good clean too. .

I then went for a spin with my mate, got them both filthy again

I did get a bit of a bargain, set of half leather TT seats came up very cheap so they`ll be going in at some point this month.

I`v come to the decision to use the Fabia more as a weekend/track toy. My commute is quite short so the fabia`s diesel engine is barely warm by the time I get there. So a cheap to run petrol will be bought and used for work (temporally using the Mrs Fiesta ST) and the Fabia can be made a bit less practical/more fun. This has started in the form of stripping the rear seats out and all the rear boot carpet/spare wheel etc. Then hopefully before the first track day in Febuary get the TT seats in and a set of harnesses. Slightly longer term I would like to bin the AC bits and bobs and move the battery to the boot to try and loose some weight from the front. I`d also like to get a boost/oil temp gauge in there and maybe a oil cooler later in the year. The Pro race wheels will be kept for summer/track use while the S3 wheels will be going light Grey and used more on the road.

Cheers
Matt

Where did your mate get the inspiration for his colour scheme from?

It looks bloody awful!

Looks great. Have to say I prefer the white wheels to the black ones though but I get that the winters needed to be chucked on. I don't mind the blue and yellow one too much actually, do either of you track them?

The other lad has done a few runs on various tracks and 2 trips to the ring. February will hopefully be my first one. Every time I`m booked on one something goes wrong!

Lovely car mate, I had one before my 182 and for an all round car they are fantastic. The torque never got boring, cheap to run and just an all round great car.
