So here we have my current car, I have recently moved out so funds are tight but wanted something with a bit of go but cheap on insurance. I've had a 1.2 version of this corsa as my first car and enjoyed it then so thoughts would try a 1.8 and with it only being insurance group 9 for 125 bhp I didn't think that was too bad. (0-60 in 8 secs)
I know it isn't too everyone's taste but I haven't 'chavved' it up at all and when the exhaust rusted through I went for an OEM exhaust instead of the easy and cheaper hugely loud one. As didn't want it to catch any attention.
And half way through an afternoon hack with my flat mate in his rover 25.
Also have a few pictures of my friends garage where he works on various cars/engines/everything that I thought I'd share.
I also briefly had a 320 before my current car but wasn't best car for a 20 year old at the time.

That is a nice looking little car, my Mum has a basic 1.2 Corsa in the same shape as yours which we have had since new. Has given us no problems at all in 7 years no matter how much it gets used as a van and does short trips. Not what I personally would buy, but a great little car none the less. Would like a go in the 1.8 to see what it is like - the 1.2 is very slow!
Out of interest, what happened to the E46?

Ye they tend to wheel spin at any given opportunity but I think ill keep ot for the time being till I come into a bit more money for something a bit more planted.
The e46 I sold to a friend as I was moving to Brighton so needed a smaller car with cheaper insurance. I do miss it tho, very tempted to get a 330 ci in the future though.
Any recommendations on somthing small and quick other then a 172/182?

I've had a few, I must say the Clio 182 is the best all around package IMO. The e46 I sold to a friend as I was moving to Brighton so needed a smaller car with cheaper insurance. I do miss it tho, very tempted to get a 330 ci in the future though.

Saxo VTS/106 Gti's are good fun too but not reliable not now anyway.
This engine is in my Coupe. It has slightly more torque than power and I believe it has a dual tract inlet manifold, so below 3k rpm it prioritises torque over power. It also seems to hit a flat spot every now and then, but when it is on song, it pulls so well for only 123bhp and 1250kgs. The SE2 had a close ratio box, don't know if the Corsa did too, but second never seems long enough with a mere 6700rpm hard limiter, which is stupid. Second gear is a lot of fun though.
