Hi all

Long time lurker on Reader's Cars and now the rebuild of my TVR is coming to an end (she'll be back in 2 weeks), I thought I'd share the journey.

The car has been gone 2 years and 4 months, with over 260 hours of work. The car wasn't terrible to start with, but one thing leads to another....!

The car is waiting for the brake servo to be returned from reconditioning, will then be MOT'd and back with me.

Anyway, here are a few of the 'nearly' finished product, and a link to more of the rebuild:

That is a long build! I'm sure it was worth it though, looks fantastic in that colour.

Op, that is stunning, not only that we've got the same gravel on our drive.

My neighbour has a red one of these. Same year. It's a shed. Yours looks absolutely incredible in comparison. I'm gonna show him these pictures and hopefully it'll shame him into doing something about his.

Probably don't lead the conversation with 'your car is a shed' ;-)

stunner! I love seeing TVR work, amazing to see how barebones they really are underneath.

That is gorgeous, I have always lusted after a V8S since sitting queuing to sit in one at an early 90s Motorshow. Great to see people cherishing them

Just looked at all the photos on the website, fabulous! Lovely colour too smile

Quick question on the chassis if you don't mind, did you specifically choose polyester coating it over powdercoat? Also who did the work for you? I'm looking at doing a similar strip on my Seven and the default is to powdercoat, but you've now got me thinking!

I'll be honest - I just followed the advice of Mike who built the car for me, but I am not sure powder coating can have the same prep of phosphating and zinc primer beforehand (happy to be corrected on this !). Feel free to drop Mike an email through his website.

Wow!

What's the veneer on the dash by the way, looks lovely.

That's zebrano which was tinted with grey. London Carriage Craft reveneered the interior. I was quite insistent about the grey tint and am absolutely delighted with the finish.

The car originally came with 'mock' bird walnut veneer which is actually a painted finish. The new veneer really modernises the interior imo.

Love it. Looks superb thumbup

I always thought a Chim or Griff would look good with a wenge or zebrano dash.

Been a while since I've posted about this car so thought I'd update.

Although the full rebuild was completed about a year ago, I've spend the last year on small details to bring the standard of finish and the way it drived up to the quality I wanted.

Work over the last 12 months has included:

- Suspension refresh with Gaz Monotubes
- New windscreen installed by Glassman
- Engine fettling and curing of shunting by TVR Power (EPROM chip installed amongst other things)
- ICE installation by Autoaudio
- Paint correction detail by KDS

I'll be doing a long tour of Europe in the car in June. Having driven nearly 400 miles in the car over the weekend I can finally say that she is fully sorted and goes like a dream.

Here are some photos:

Lovely, that's a real credit to you.

Just about the right amount of power for a V8S too, I'd have thought.
