Having had my 2010 Alfa Romeo 159 Ti Sportswagon for 2 and a half years, I finally got bored of owning a diesel.
The Alfa was one of the best looking cars I have owned and I would have loved it more if I had purchased the V6. But during a conversation I had with my wife, I remembered that since I swapped my Clio 182 for the Alfa, I hadn't taken the long route anywhere just for the pleasure of driving. This was something I always did in the Clio and my Mazda RX-7 when I had them. I just didnt enjoy driving the Alfa for the sake of driving.

So, the hunt was on for a new car that would suit my driving needs as well as being a good family car, as my wife and I are expecting our first child in January 2014.
There really was only one answer and it was AMG. Having been in love with the noise of the 6.2 V8 since I first heard it, I have always wanted a C63 AMG.

Last weekend, that dream became a reality when we picked up this C63 with the optional Performance pack. The car has every option going bar the reverse camera. Its amazingly fast, precise and comfy, but the engine is brutal. The power delivery is addictive and the noise its perfect.

Its a shame that I cant use it everyday (70 mile commute), but my trusty £400.00 Rover 25 Impression S handles daily duties just fine.

So, some pictures;

Its Tenorite Grey with Black leather and Ash Wood. I think it looks subtle, yet purposeful in this colour combo. I hope you all like it!

That is lovely, I really like these. Merc/AMG really do make the best (read: dirtiest) sounding V8s in the business.

Thanks for the replies. I'm Happy with it.
I wanted another colour, but in the flesh this colour is fantastic.

And the bark when you turn the ignition, plus the over run on down shifts is as you put it, dirty smile

Cheers. Pure petrol head! Diesel has it's uses, just not for me. Plus, my Rover gets more to the gallon than the Alfa did and its also petrol.

I was the same with my recent Jag purchase, wanted a colour similar to your car but saw a black one "in the metal" so to speak and decided it was nicer.

I saw, and more importantly heard, one of these at a rolling road day a few months ago, the noise is just fearsome, utter filth wink

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Proper stealth.

I noticed a C class coming up the road the other day and didn't think much of it until the 'bwaaaaarp'. Awesome.

I know, some how I managed to convince my wife this too. Although, she does love her cars so it wasnt to hard.

I would think so. I love the little Rover. Its great on fuel and comfy to commute in. It only has 50k on the clocks with immaculate service history, 3 owners and cost £400.00. I couldn't turn it down. Makes for a funny driveway though, this, the Rover and the mk1 Golf my wife drives.

Ha, she is awesome, she drives her mk1 Golf to work everyday. She is a surgeon in Peterborough, and gets some stick from other doctors for driving an old car, but she loves it and will never change it.

She is also a massive fan of the AMG. She drove it the other day and when I asked her to back off on the A1, she said she couldn't as the sound was too good. She then used kick down and off we went at a rate on knots!
