Im a bit dubious of posting this. But i think all petrolheads will be able to appreciate the appeal of this.

The car is a white 1989 W124 E250 D.

It has an OM606 3.0 engine (from a W210 E Class)
6 speed box from a W211 E270 cdi
Sachs racing clutch and custom flywheel
7.5 manual superstroker injection pump from dieselmeken
Borgwarner S300 turbo running 3 bar
3 inch turbo back stainless exhaust
Big radiator and intercooler from an E300 W124

A few pics:

So this car appears 100% bone stock from the outside. Unless you twig the exhaust of course.

Under the bonnet is a bit more revealing..

It is worth mentioning that this engine is bone stock. Unopened. Its been running this power for a year, uses no oil, and has lost no compression. Pretty amazing really!

The car made 562hp and 587 ft lb. That is wheel figures from a hub dyno. Crank figure was 680bhp. It has an 8,000rpm redline, but feels best when changing at around 6 to 6.5.

And yes, it will still do 37mpg if you stay off boost.

Now upload some videos! That's some big power and torque there.

I can get a startup vid no issue. Sounds mean on idle as it hunts. Kinda like its cammed.

The only stock part of the car that needs upgrading is the diff, and i had too much fun on the way home. Quaife might be coming sooner than anticipated... lol

As a Merc fanatic, that is literally a perfect sleeper, running on Devil's Juice. I would love to know what it would VMAX at.

What a beast! I bet that has caught a few people out thinking it's a boggo diesel Merc. I also vote for some videos!

Evil, This is the very definition of a sleeper, "old man" Merc and a diesel, just with a quite insane amount of power.

How are you getting a red line of 8K? This is the Vtec yo! of diesels. That is a very, very steep power and torque curve after 4K, it must be entertaining eekyikes in the wet.

Oof! Q-car heaven.

Only needs original front bumper, an un-painted rear black plastic insert, a set of 8-holes and a proper star on the bonnet.

And (subject to personal preference) a JRG respray.

Couldn't agree more. I'm no great lover of diesels, but 600bhp+ and 8000rpm might just be enough to convince me.
