Had my first proper evening run out in the fezzer tonight, crossed over the A1 from Donny and round the countryside before you get over towards Goldthorpe. Only an hour but after the first 7-8 miles to get it warmed up it was pretty much all B road.

With the remap on it's got plenty usable grunt to keep it going in 3rd and 4th between corners and it just responds so well to whatever you want to do, be that chuck it around or brake early and accelerate. Brakes feel a bit lacking after the M Performance jobs in my 330d but you'd have to be driving well beyond the limit of the roads to have a big problem with them. Maybe some better pads will be the first job I do

Edit to say I don't know what else you could want in a hot hatch. Obviously it's not that fast but in a day and age where an MG crossover designed to potter about in town will do 60 in 4 seconds I don't actually care. I had a Golf R that would do that for two years but down a B road I'd take the Fiesta every time unless it was absolutely pissing down

I think you sum up the ST just nicely there, its quick, but not too quick, you can ring it's neck, it absorbs the crappy roads nicely and its small enough to fit most places without needing someone else's bit of road too. Regarding brakes, I tried EBC Ultimax front discs and pads, not impressed and won't buy again, rattling brake pads were replaced with generic Pagid stuff that are ok but nothing to write home about. At least they don't rattle!
