Hi Im Michael from Manchester thought I would post some more Information
about my Maestro Turbo No 435.

Where to start really ???
I’ve always loved the Maestro turbo every since I was a spotty 16 year old apprentice mechanic at Horner’s in Manchester and I worked with a gentleman called Colin Francis. He raced a 300bhp Maestro turbo in the Toyo Tyres Fast Road Saloon Championship. If I remember I was the butt of a few jokes at the time. Racing against RS Turbo, Lotus Sunbeams Capri’s, SD1’s. After a while the jokes stopped when they realised how fast the car was. And he did really well in the Championship.
He took me under his wing and made me part of his team. From that day on I promised myself I would own a Maestro Turbo!

About 4 years ago I found number 435 on ebay for and snapped it up. I was over the moon as it was a genuine black one and only 49 where made. I more or less had to pass an interview before the gentleman would sell it me. The car had No tax No Mot and been stood for a number of years and did need quite a lot of work. But looking at the file full of history i knew this car had been looked after in the past and needed to be back on the road.

After 4 years and lots of sweet and tears and money I’ve got it to where it is now.
It’s still not perfect. The bodywork still needs attention in areas.
The drivers door needs replacing.
But I’m happy with what I have achieved keeping this car still on the road smile

This car has been modified.
From MG TF 160 Brakes
MG TF Alloys
Rover Turbo LSD Gearbox.
Larger turbo with modified dump vale.
Battery to boot conversion with forced cold air feed
Sparco coolant hoses.
Smoothed out front bumper
De-locked
Lowered
Tinted Windows
Theirs probably lots more but I’m writing this in work on my dinner and my mind has gone blank!

The car is a scream to drive. And still pulls like a train up till 130mph (on a track of course) Always puts a smile on my face. A quick drive turns into a 3 hour drive. I only drive her from March time onwards and only for 6 months and then she goes away for the winter. Keep the mileage down clock show 68.000 miles.

I can’t believe the attention this car gets when I’m out driving or at Shows from all ages. Still shocks me. Any questions please ask.

Thanks for reading Mike smile
