Hey guys,

I need some more power, the car previously had 730 bhp and i have got very use to it and now needing more.

Dropped the car back in the safe hands of Lee at SRD sunday for a few updates, swapping things about a bit.

New plans for the car is a low 10 or maybe even a 9 second 1/4 and a 200+mph standing mile.

Few weeks ago i did a 190mph standing mile and its given me the bug to go for more.

New engine and 76mm turbo going in along with a few other mods, the stock engine lasted me well but i now want more power and a lot more revs, planning on setting the rev limit to around 8500rpm.

Spec for the new engine.

Powerhouse Racing Performance Head
Built from a brand new OEM head
Supertech Valves, Intake and Exhaust
Supertech Valve Guides
Supertech Valve Locks
Supertech Valve Seals
Supertech Titanium Retainers
Supertech Single Valve Springs
Shimless Buckets
GSC Stage 1 Cams
CP Pistons
Brian Crower Pro Series rods
ACL race bearings
ARP Head Studs
ARP Main Studs
Titan Motorsports Adjustable Cam Pulleys
TTC Performance Billet Aluminum Upper Shock Arm
TTC Performance Idler Pulley
TTC Performance Water Pump Pully Cover
Unorthodox Racing Lightened Pulley Set
Billet Timing Belt Tensioner Bracket
Titan Motorsports Dampend Crank Pulley
TRD Engine Mounts
TRD Gearbox Mounts

Regarding clutch ive gone with a new style Billet RPS carbon carbon twin plate, these are said to hold a 1000rwhp with ease, it looks a work of art.

New Turbo is a bit of a mouthfull.. PTB655-7675 B - CEA 76 HPS, ported H cover, T4 .81, dual ceramic BB. its basically a billet 76mm turbo on a .81 ar, this is one of the brand new precision dbb turbos that are air/oil cooled not water/oil cooled like most dbb turbos.

Whifbitz is building me a 4" twin box system to quieten it down a bit for 90% of the time, im also having a 5" straight through system built to my own spec by a local company for when i want to make some serious noise, i will update this post with pictures in a few days.

Im giving the interior a make over aswell, gone is the bucket seats, im going back to a bit more of a sleeper look, I have sent over to jurgen some facelift seats which are luckily non elecric so very light and my back seats for him to retrim, ive seen a lot of his work now and it looks stunning so looking forward to getting them back, i will update this post with some pictures in a couple of days.

Haha, you nutter!

Arent you tempted to see if you can get to 1000bhp on the stock internals? biggrin
Nah, stock engine wont take the high revs i need with the bigger turbo, rather keep it in one bit so i can rebuild it and keep as a spare.

How does an air cooled turbo work then? I can only presume you mean it has its own oil system and oil cooler?
Dbb turbos are oil and water cooled until recently, now precision are building dbb turbos that are oil and air cooled, center cartridge has cooling fins on it.

Thats amazing!

I'm not sure how comfortable i'd be at 190mph with one hand on the wheel.. But fair play.. hehe
Bit shocked when i watch that back myself tbh, i didnt realise i was doing it, shows how stable the car is at speed though.biggrin

That Supra looks familiar - I'm sure I saw you driving up the hill from Chesham towards Amersham late last year. Not entirely in a straight line either!

Will keep any eye out for you - keep the updates coming!
Most likely coming back from wheels in motion, i live in beaconsfield.

Cheers guys.

Regarding cams i feel the 269's will be just right, i dont want a lumpy cam that kills my tickover and reduces spool time.

It will always be a 100% street car, regarding fuel i will take it as far as i can on vpower (no E85 near me Jim) then look at some adetives, my mates supra runs a 1000bhp with just a few litres of xylene mixed in.

5" exhaust is nearly done, my guy is just doing the brackets now, its a copy of my 4" hks ti, just bigger and with no baffles.

Should sound mental.

Just heard from Lee the new engine is all built up and installed along with gearbox, should have some pictures later, due to collect the car tuesday, my mapper is meetting me there and we are going to do a bit of street mapping, nothing crazy to start with, just let it all bed in for a couple of hundred miles then put some boost in it.

5" exhaust is finished, looks a work of art.

Not much in the way of baffles.

Got it back for the day to put a few more miles on before Ryan starts on it.

That exhaust sounds pure evil, never have i heard a supra sound like this, sounds like a proper race car the way it revs so quickcool

Got the interior back, thanks jurgen, looks very nicely put together.

Looking forward to seeing this run in and getting some stick!

Are you attending any vmax type days this year?
Im doing thunder road in october, standing mile event, id like to have a shot at vmax.

If i have the power to pull the revs 6th gear @ 8.5k rpm on the road tyres = 241.3mph

Great, subtle looking car. smile
No, i have a quiet twin box system being built that i will run most of the time, the 5" system is for the odd time i want to make some serious noise, santapod etc.

First stage of mapping went well, feels pretty good for low boost, we could not get a clean run on the dyno, just kept wheel spinng on the rollers, charlie and ryan think its about 740bhp and 600ftlb at 1.1bar.

Booked a hub dyno for next week to try a little more boost and no problems with wheel spin.

A little speedo clip for you from today.
