I'm curious to know what tyres does everyone think are the best all round for Porsche? By all round I mean in both the wet and dry, giving superior grip and handling and also when aquaplaning. I've heard that the latest range from Continental, the ContiSportContact 2 have been tested in all conditions and have scored very high and come highly recommended.
Has anyone tried Continental? What do you think of them?
What have you guys fitted or what do you think are the best?

I've only ever hand SO2 and P0's on the car. Loved the SO2's in the wet, but wore really quickly . P0's fantasic in the dry.
Sorry no other exprience. Did anyone read that EVO article on tyres? very interesting - loads of good info. Though I imagin that how well the tyre performs depends on its size aswell.

Have had the Contis plenty of times - they're the most popular choice usually cos they almost always come out as the cheapest 'N' rated Porsche tyre. Having said that they've never let me down and have reasonably good wear too. No tyre will perform well when aquaplaning as the tyre isn't touching the ground, I have never aquaplaned whilst using Contis.

Mind you, since leaving a main road at 70 and ending up on my head in a ditch after aquaplaning I've never aquaplaned on any tyre since - you learn to drive carefully in the wet once stung like that!!

I have Goodyear F1's and think they are great. Not N rated but cheaper than other available options.

Pirelli PZero nothing special and Contisports apparently very good indeed. Michelin Pilot Sports also very good.

So if you must have N rated then go Conti or Michi, otherwise I'm comfortable recommending the F1s. Evo liked them too!

I'm on a second set of conti's and would more than recommend them, even if you do drive a little quick at times and corner a little radical at other times! or all at the same time.

I've just fitted P Zero Rossos to my Boxster S, on 18" wheels. They have been great so far, but I've only doen a couple of hundred miles on them. Was on Pilot Sports before that I think, and the difference is quite noticeable (although it may have something to do with the change between 17" and 18" wheels! )
