Yes

It's not as good as the old one

and that one wasn't as good as the even older one

Don't get me started on the one older than that

They're not built for enthusiasts anymore, it's all about profit..........

Probably going to just be a 2 wheel drive 997 Turbo which will have traction control that you can switch off if you want.

Yep, that's everyone's reasoning for the 993 GT2 being the ultimate GT2.

Don't forget the profit bit.

It won't be a drivers car, just a mass produced over priced every day car, just like the mass produced 996GT2.

No fun I expect, may as well buy a Fiesta.

Any news on specs? BHP etc?

Will the union jack be going on the roof?

Told beween 540bhp - 580bhp. Personally I would reckon 550bhp looking at the power relationships between previous TT's and GT2's.

A Union Flag will be on the roof (Union Jack's are for boats).....

I will speak to my man and get an accurate update on delivery times on Monday.

I have been told I can expect delivery in July '07, meantimes I'll just keep plodding around in my old 'mass produced' 996 GT2 [50,000 miler] which is the quickest, most comfortable, competent long distance grand touring car that I've owned or driven.

Sounds brilliant Lonman. There's been heated discussion on many forums whether you will actually be participating in this years Gumball or note - I hope the answer is the former. I'm sure to be at the start if your going to be there, but otherwise there my be not enough petrolheads and too many celebrities to draw me there. Also, the crowds were almost unbarable last year.

However, Porsche hasn't even released any pictures of the new GT2 yet, so you will have one of the very first cars if you have it by the end of April. OPC sponsership would be great. Wouldn't think Porsche would condone speeding down the hard shoulder or single lane roads at 180mph.
