Help...rolleyes

Right, couldn't decide whether this warranted it's own thread or a post on here.
So in the next few weeks I've a budget upto 8K, now my conundrum is quite what Porsche to go for...the basis of what I need is something that can be used regularly, is fairly practical (4 seats would be handy) and well that's about it..

Now I know logically a Boxster would make sense (4 seats aside) but part of me thinks a 996 , and part of me wonders on a 944/968 variant...would appreciate any thoughts people have. I'm fairly handy with tools so home maintenance isn't too much of a worry.
You won't get a 996 for £8k - well you might be able to buy one for £8k but by the time it's in decent order it will be well over £10k

I'd save a bit of cash and buy a Boxster S or 944S2 (not a cab).

That one looks like a great buy, but it's just too far out of my budget at the moment. The original 3.2 S got my attention as it was in the same price range as the 2.5l models that I was looking at.

I guess I'll put ideas of getting a 3.2 on the back burner for now and look at some 2.5s.

The advert for the 'S' is terrible. No mention of spec or as mentioned above interior pics.

From the look of it though it has a decent spec. From the rubbish pics it looks like it has litronics, & sport seats at least.

Well, I took the plunge. £6k's worth of 996 with 79,000 miles!
The car was stolen and recovered in 2004 and ended up registered as Cat D but has been back on the road (with the same owner) for the last 10 years!

It's even got a natty blue key ring. How did you find it?

That is a fantastic buy at that price - you can't really fail and heaven forbid something huge fails in the engine department then you do not have too much value at risk

Great find

Well I had the car inspected expecting a bit of a nightmare, but she turned out much better than expected!
Things then took a dramatic turn!!

Interesting way of going about poverty pork ownership. smile

Personally would have kept standard, sans stickers, but then I'm a boring old fart.

Sifly, what a great job you have done except one thing.

That PORSCHE decal on the engine lid is ghastly!

Yep, the 997 BBS wheels with virtually new matching ContiSportContact 3 tyres are for sale, along with the full grey leather interior!

The 997 wheels actually look really good on the 996, they update its look and fill out the arches nicely.

Any interior pics?
