Let me know when you want to meet at the Pod, Ill be quite happy to cruise up in the turbo, happy I can either exceed 200mph or acheive 35+mpg at up to 100mph off boost with the AC on and it wont try and kill me and still run with you in the 1/4
Just banter !!!!
Trust me, I'm fully upto speed with what you have as I have seen what the John Webster cars Just banter !!!!
Do on the strip, it's amazing what MPG you can get now with a Big Block / Pro Charger set up.
Just look at Marc Lamudes 55 Chevy, I see him everywhere in that car and it runs low 8s laugh ! Mental.

I was full of anticipation when I drove the GT2 dude, utterly dissapointed im afraid.....
For me it was the exact opposite. I owned a 996 turbo X50 and sold it very quickly because whilst it was a great daily driver it was absolutely no fun. Same applied to my 997 turbo, great car but boring. My 996 GT3.2 was the opposite, down on power but involving. The GT2 just makes the difference more extreme, massively quick but also totally involving. For me the perfect weekend car, one which you have to concentrate on driving because the slightest input causes a reaction on the road. It's a drivers car and one of the best.
Think you've just missed the point and if you're happy with your turbo then I'm pleased you've found what suits you.

I'm lucky enough to have a GT2 and a mapped turbo.
With the OH driving the Turbo at Vmax there was only 1 mph and 20 yards in it over the entire run. With the GT2 quicker off the line and round the corner. And over several runs as well.
I also run a 900+HP Monaro ( which is also having some work done by Andy, as he's v.good but also only a couple of miles away) and I find that less unforgiving than the 2 on the road, partly as I stay further away from the limit in confined spaces and partly because it's actually better at communicating the approach to a limit over a longer period.
What both cars have taught me is how to read the road, its surface, contours, undulations and imperfections and how they will have an impact on how the car will respond in any given situation. The Turbo flatters and makes pace without the need for that type of observation.
That said a spirited drive in the 2 makes me feel alive after, which is why that makes it the weapon of choice for me.
I have no doubt I'd be a distant second to most driving a Turbo but I'd bet I'm having more fun.
As there are some off topic photos appearing thought I'd throw one in, the rat can be pretty mad in the wet.

When it comes to building race cars, Andy is the best hands down. Adrian Newey even goes to Andy to get work doneWith the OH driving the Turbo at Vmax there was only 1 mph and 20 yards in it over the entire run. With the GT2 quicker off the line and round the corner. And over several runs as well.

On his own race car so your in safe hands.
When it comes to the GT2, your right in saying that the Turbo probably is quicker (Driven both by average drivers on the same road) but when you both reach your destination the grins and story's will be completely different. I have looked a so many top end Supercars to replace it with right upto 140k and I have given up so, that's why Im building a Pro Street car
With Nos and a big cam V8 so I won't be comparing it to the GT2. The 996GT2 Is the car I have always wanted so regardless of opinion, it's perfect. Laugh Istill cannot believe what I paid for it, bargain of the century and there only going one way now.

This would run rings around my GT2 I owned
Claimed 550 BHP+ DMS map/pipe/Diverters
997 GT2 intercoolers
Forge actuators and currently boosting 1.3-1.5 bar
Take out all weathers lob the kids in the back.
Has all the GT2 looks, money made on previous Pork invested in property.
Just ticks the boxes more for my needs.
They're all wicked looking cars ! But that's my point the Turbo in standard form was missing that naughty nature, but now by the looks of it you have played with your Turbo, you now have a street pounding car.
The GT2 looks like that stock. , I had to be going faster in the Turbo to get a rush.
My wife is German and does everything so well and efficient Laugh but sometimes I do say you are aloud to be
A little bit bad ?? but it's just not in her (like my standard Turbo) hence that's why I have the Mistress ie GT2.

Has anyone got a set of Mark II wheels they may be thinking of selling? PM me.
front wheels often come up used, the correct 12" rears are like unicorn tears, deals are to be had via your OPC on the rears but the price is still punchy.Last complete set that I saw were USA based at $5000, took a few weeks to sell but they did go.
Happy hunting.

Good luck ! I searched for over a year and then gave up and bought brand new from Porsche. Try LA Dismantlers, you'll pay
Top dollar but they might have a set.
Mark II wheels secured ( at great expense ) from Teile.com, had to buy one new rear wheel as they only had three used ones but I am assured they are all in mint condition !Top dollar but they might have a set.

What are the best tires to go for these days ( road use ) and where to purchase from ? Did the Michelin Pilot Cup 2's get released in our sizes ?
