So you didn't pull the trigger on a "black with platinum wheels and orange buckets" 981S then!

Seriously?

You think they're that good?

I'm thinking I might be stupid to get rid of mine....

Couldn't handle the expected depreciation, nor warrant £20k extra..

Spent a long time agonising and figured they're good fun and most definitely good news re value, and I didn't keep the last one long enough.

Your platinum Spyder was a nice spec as I recall. Tell us about your latest?

Basalt black
Natural carrera red interior - not quite as "urgent" as I'd feared, looks great in the flesh
April 2011
Porsche warranty to April '14

Manual
Sports chrono
Sports exhaust
PCM SatNav
Bluetooth/Universal audio
Porsche crest on armrest cubby box thing
Buckets
Full leather

Might have short shift, need to check further, if not will add it.

There's only one left in the OPC network today! Form an orderly queue...

I am currently swanning around in a new 981 Boxster whilst a warranty job is sorted on my Spyder - I am left wondereing if Porsche will ever make anything as raw as the Spyder again. 981 roof goes down in 9 seconds under its own power and is silent on the motorway but the car lacks fun.

Your platinum had full leather too didn't it? Nice to have.

Sounds nice, do you think you need the short shift? I'm quite happy without it on mine. I heard it can be a bit stiff (oo-er) when the engine is cold or is that a load of rubbish? Can't say I have ever driven one.

Will see, last two had it (no issues when cold), haven't driven it yet so will be interesting to see if I can tell the difference

It can be a bit stiff when cold, but it soon loosens up. It is never exactly bad, but does get better when warm.

Looks like a great car, but it is a poor advert!

Well done indeed.

I'd like the SS on mine, but at over £400 from an OPC I'll settle with the standard shift.

That interior looks lovely - like the grey alcantara with the red leather seats.

That's not overly red.
