The update & Nav Disc works on 997 and 987 with PCM2.1
I haven't tested on a cayenne 2004.
Drop me an email rox810i@googlemail.com if your still interested.

I have a late 2004 997 which must have been one of the first 997s. My maps are dated to 2004 and I would obviously like to update these to the latest maps possible. I rang porsche in Towcester and they were talking about selling me the latest disks and me having to upgrade the software in my system - all told they were talking about £600 ish which seemed like acomplete RIP OFF! I might own an expensive and beautiful car but it is insulting for them to think Ive got more money than sense, which actually isnt the case. I see in this forum lots of info that is confusing me. Could one of you experts help me please if I tell you my set up is. It would be most appreciated.

My Navtech DVD disc is 997.642.235.02 Europe 08.2004

I have pressed "main & trip" to find the following system info.

PCM SW 1.0

System Software: 03514AD1/5103
PCM Software: 04035AD1/0304
Nav System: 00174155/2704

Whilst these are just numbers to me Im really hopeful someone can get in touch to help me update.

Thank You in anticipation of a reply

The current update I have will not work on 996 PCM systems.
I might be able to get hold of the update.
Will advise.

He'll then ask for a small deposit to be sent to a Nigerian bank account...

Did anyone get disks from Rox and, if so, how easy was it to install the new software and maps?

I asked my local OPC about doing this for my 05 Boxster 987 and was told that it should only be done by an OPC and it would cost me (incl 30 minutes labour) about 400 quid. Seems an awful lot for a download, especially as the maps are out of date as soon as they're produced and there's no proper postcode search system.

I do have a perfectly good TomTom 910, bought before I got this car, but it's a bit of a nuisance having to fix it to the screen and have trailing wires when I could be using the PCM system.

On the other hand, I don't want to buy disks from a third party only to find that they screw up the existing system! Any help appreciated.

I've purchased a new disc 997 642 255 06 to update my 05 987 PCM but I'm unsure whether I need an additional upgrade disc as well and what procedure to follow.

The Porsche software update disk is £14.99 and the 2008 UK & Ireland map disk is £109.99.
Hereward, what does the update update?

And have you bought these - if so what's your opinion?
