Well I've been reading a lot of negatives comments about the GT3 so I thought I would introduce a bit of love back, regardless of your view of the PDK gearbox, or your opinion of whether chasing lap times is a good thing or not, the results below are very impressive given all of those cars have a much higher power output!

Hockenheimring Short: 1:08,0 min
Published in the latest issue of Sport Auto (04/2013).

1:08,0 min - Porsche 911 GT3 (991)
1:08,3 min - Corvette ZR1 HPP
1:08,4 min - Porsche 911 GT2 RS (997.2)
1:08,6 min - Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
1:08,7 min - McLaren MP4-12C
1:09,5 min - Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (997.2)
1:09,6 min - Audi R8 GT
1:09,7 min - Ferrari 458 Italia
1:10,4 min - Porsche 911 Carrera S PDK (991)

Yes I was astounded to, and this is the bottom line isn't it, whether people like it or not, this car will be judged against its peers and you cannot release a brand new car in 2013 that is slower than all its peers just to appease a few PH members whom wish to "stir" a car themselves LOL!!

It looks like it's going to be a cracker!!!

I'm trying to resist all the hype and not spend any more hours on the configurator, but really isn't working! Very likely that I will be putting my deposit down early May. OPC has mentioned a depositors day at Silverstone in July. Has anyone got any confirmation of this yet?
No firm dates although I have been told there will be a day at Silverstone which is very exciting!

Second batch boohoo!!

I'm off to think of a load of reasons why it's far better for me not to get a car this year in the first batch :-)

I am reconsidering speccing ceramics now myself, the argument against them seems quite strong, I have them on my Scuderia and the thought of having to replace them is horrific!!

Mind you I have such a long wait now I don't care, I really don't care.

Ferrari and Lamborghini now do most of their aero and downforce under the car these days.
Looks like Ferrari are just as good as at it as Porsche to me!

Fair point, but I was referring to road cars.
gotcha, sorry the original video was of a GT3 Cup car with a massive rear wing like the one on the GT3 Fezza, the rear wing on the road going car is quite a big thing but I like it, but then I've owned 2 Escort Cosworths so I'm probably not the best person to discuss whether a rear wing is tasteful or not LOL!

Hi everyone,

I have my deposit down for a gt3 for a Nov del. I will be mainly using it on the road and I want the sports bucket seats, but whats everyones thoughts on the roll cage? Looks cool but I do like to do euro road trips so that space could be super handy for bags!

Here's my build: http://www.porsche-code.com/PEM3CQ46 Let me know what you think, colour is a TOUGH discussion!! smile
I wasn't going to tick the clubsport box myself originally but I think I will now, I couldn't imagine my Scud without the roll cage, fire extinguisher and harnesses it just suits the car and makes the occasion I think the same will be said for the GT3.

I'm going for guards red myself I have toyed with other colours but keep coming back to the guards red it just looks so good on the GT3, you have a few months yet to make up your mind wink

Managed to get a deposit in for delivery March 14 so I'm now going to spend the next 9 months looking over clips on youtube and reading on here.
Believe you me it won't take long, it's a pain buying a car that isn't out yet there is nothing to watch LOL!

Read that one weeks ago LOL!

I've got my Google alerts configured so I'm all over this, had to stop myself downloading the sales brochure so as not to spoil it when the actual one arrives, if it arrives thought it was supposed to be end of the month.

Picked up my brochure today from Porsche Leicester something to read later!

While I was there I saw an Agate Gray Cayman and I have to say I thought it looked amazing I think I may have found my colour.

And to whoever has bought that Cayman great choice it looked fantastic!
