JB is a bit awestruck, and the questioning is very tame .. essentially a marketing video from Porsche

I quite like the fact the flagship & Carreras now share the same engine, I always though it devalued the brand that they didn't race the m96/7 units.

However, I'm aware that at present they aren't racing the new unit-is this to change for next season?

Just watched the EVO vid. Sounds like it's a great car. Still a shame it's not a manual though. That engine sounds like it's going to be utterly epic!

Sounds like PDK = learn how to change gears with your fingers near the wheel rather than stirring a gear lever.

Sounds OK to me.

Great EVO interview with the Porsche man, he talked quite openly about the key things.

Steels are 380mm at the front and at the read
Ceramics are 410mm (!) at the front and 380mm at the rear.

The only parts used from the standard 9A1 engine are the following:

- crankcase
- bolts on the crankcase
- the chain for the drive-train
- generator

The revised engine uses:

- titanium rods
- forged pistons
- cylinder head with rocker arms
- 475BHP is a conservative figure.

Incredible.. If Porsche says PDK is the way to go, I believe them. After all this is a GT3, there is no better track tool.

As ever there will be the naysayers, but I'm sure it will be epic.

Not currently on my agenda, but envy anyone who's getting one.

No it doesn't. Read the press release. I'm reserving judgement until I've driven one.

Yeah, just read the full release and it does keep the electro-mechanical steering. DRL's are now around the main circular main lenses.

ETA, they are now including three years warranty as standard.

Thanks for posting that, Andreas is such an enthusiastic host, still prize may signed 3.8RS brochure from the launch evening.

Having heard all that he has to say I think I'm convinced.
