Why do they have to give it a name anyway?

I mean 911 seems to have done ok.
Did anyone complain about the 968?

If you do have to give it a name do what AM have done and give it a good one, Vanquish is infinately better than cayman.

I imagine it will be spelled Caiman; it's the name of a kind of alligator, and this is how I have normally seen it written.

Naming is the new convention for Porsche.

I was about to start a thread called 993,996,997 then what? But then I heard, which would make sense, that the 911 will soon be called the Carrera, which it has been referred to internally for a while. So I'm led to believe.

So:
Boxster
Cayman
Carrera
Cayenne

Although after watching the Cayman teaser on the web they need to round up there ad agency in a room and leave them to kill each other.

Shocking, who the is that aimed at. People, exp Cayman buyers I would thought are a little more sophisticated than that. Think apple ffs!!

btw, any pics of the Cayman flying around?

some body has to make something for the gay community, why not porsche.Must be a big and growing market then henry!.
The name is staying i am a fraid,i am sure we will get use to it,the same as we have with the boxter& the cayenne/pimp mobile!!!
To make up for it,i have seen a photo of the 997 gt3,looks great. The cayman also looks very good and could be quite a car, especialy if they do a proper clubsport.

I`ve had a long think about this and obviously those lads at Porsche are bright guys who have studied copious amounts of focus group data and conducted extensive field trials. So I`m going to nick their info and launch my own product based on their research - You saw it her first !

The 911virgin.com group is launching it`s own brand of cigarettes today. They are simply called - COCK.

The company`s chairman Henry Firman explained the thinking behind the brand : "These fags are ideal for a quick smoke first thing in the morning so we were looking for something people identify with early mornings and the cry of a cockrel seemed ideal. We also thought that the fags might sell well in China where this is the year of the cockrel and our research has shown that a lot of people live in China so we could really hit the jackpot".

The company has also stolen a lead from other manufacturers by printing the brand in big letters down the shaft of the cigarette so other smokers can see what brand of cancer stick their friends are puffing away on.

Look out for someone with a cock in their mouth walking into your local pub soon.

Henry

911virgin.com have a great range of used Porsches for sale.

Check out the website to see their entire stock of around 40 used Porsches, to pick up buying tips or to get some useful Porsche contacts.

(That`ll teach you to wack an advert for some old car dealers on the side of my posting !!)

Apart from the naff rear spoiler, it does look good. Almost better than the standard 997... it actually has haunches.
