Great stuff dudes. So sounds like 2 porsches are leaving their owners. It'll be a sad day!
Make that three weeping

Excellent write up, I was hanging on every word. Sounds like it was a heady mix of pleasure and pain....

Bit like bondage I would imagine hehe

Dont worry about the police anywhere off the autoroutes. We acted like complete driving tts for four days but the only problems we had were on the autoroutes.

Everywhere else they were fine, and even hooning through the tunnels from Monaco to Nice didnt even raise an mooresque eyebrow

Thanks for all the comments, I really wrote for myself, glad I shared it.

A few more pics.

Early morning and the gloom of Northern France welcomes us. Just don't speed!

Nearly at the start, and a little lost.

Nerv didn't like the look of those clouds.

A short break at Castellane.

Return leg, just above Grasse.

Why am I always the navigator?

Couple of corners later I was in front of them.

Damp conditions barely slowed me.

Some long straights.

One of the rare times I stopped.

My wheels started to change colour.

Pretty pleased with ourselves after that run.

Homeward bound.

That was a very enjoyable description of your journeying MT ...

A thought occurred to me that you've spent more time blatting in your 996 over those couple of days than I'd do all year..

.. Any chance you'd throw a few lines together on a bit more detail of the cars performance , how it handled on the limit in the wet / dry , any personal thoughts on the cars envelope?? .. It'd be interesting to get a 'layman's' reaction..

It's sooooo good to hear someone really appreciating their 996 for a change , hopefully the 'detractors' will stay in the wings hehe

Great write-up, Chaps. Sounds like you had a blast, Les Coppeurs notwithstanding...

MT - your dirty wheels look great - gives the wheels a kind of gun metal colour on the photos that really works with the arctic silver paint.

Ha Ha. I've done the same. Let the wheels get dirty but wiped the shiny outer rim!!! Are those BBS alloys on your GT3, Nervy?

Ha ha, Wetwipe I empathise with you on that one.

I drove home to Dublin via the Napoleon road last month
after a friend's Bday party, and a heavy session in Monaco
in Hotel de Paris and Jimmy's.

I had my heart in my mouth with the hangover of the century from Monaco to the evening
stop over, I know how you felt, this road is just made for 911s, I wished I could pop
a pill to take the hangover away, and fully enjoy the drive.....

Great write up guys.

My favourite photo of the whole trip is Nerv's reaction following our rain soaked descent in his Clubsport (read no traction and no ABS).......
