I have always found that people's behaviour when they dont know they are being observed is a cleare indicator of character than when they are 'on parade'! His phone call to the BBC presenter tells you, I would suggest, all you need to known about his true character.

Being a really nice guy on a road trip with a bunch of fellow Porsche enthusiasts is easy - even I could do it, and I'm horrible. Taking advantage of the elderly and making threats over the phone to them (I did like the "I know where you live - I'll come around and slit your throat" one) removes any possibility of being a nice guy.

People like that are the scum of the earth in my (not remotely humble) opinion.
