Out of interest whats mine worth now PH massive? Triple black. Mar 2007. 1 owner. Manual. Reasonably well optioned with all the important must have options i.e tel mod, SC, mf wheel, heated seats, rear centre console in leather few bits of naff silver trim on instrument surround and steering wheel (I know school boy error) Cost new £102k
Current mileage 50,000.
Serviced every 12 months rather than 2 years and soon to get its fifth stamp in service book.
New MSP2 tyres all round.
Been under extended warranty since new which runs out March 2013.
Never been modified.
Cars in mint condition for a 5 year old car. Would not look out of place in a showroom after a detail.
Flamesuit on.
I'd love Chris Harris to test my 5 year old car against other new or nearly new OPC stock like Boxster, Cayman 997 GTS, 991 which are all now far more expensive at between £50k and £100k.

I don't see these at sub £20k ever. Due to numbers they might reach £25k with high miles but these look good on the outside and inside and offersuch performance.
I'd imagine there will be plenty of takers who couldn't get on with the 996 turbo lights and interior.
996 turbos are heading that way, i don't think different lights will make much difference, high running costs... fuel, tax will continue to drive the prices down, there is just way to many of them to be "classics".. good news for buyers bad news for owners.. well assuming you worry about things like depreciationI'd imagine there will be plenty of takers who couldn't get on with the 996 turbo lights and interior.

Although the 997 turbo will be hit by the cost of fuel, tax etc it is held in a higher esteem - better interior, classic lights etc that's why I think it will still be more sought after and hold a higher base than the 996 turbo.
Oh and the 7t.1 is the "last turbo with a Mezger engine".

i think we'll have to agree to disagree, as much as i'd like modern 911's to retain value like the aircooled cars, i just can't see itAlthough the 997 turbo will be hit by the cost of fuel, tax etc it is held in a higher esteem - better interior, classic lights etc that's why I think it will still be more sought after and hold a higher base than the 996 turbo.

Thought triple pack was a US term which applied to cabs with black roof? Seen that pic a few times now and it made me realise I think the 997tt wheels are horrible because of the bling chrome finish not the design. Looks lovely.I would say you car would get £45k, so imagine about £40k to a dealer?

Reading this you would think the trade would be doing good deals but they wont budge so there must still be plenty of wealthy suckers buying, I had Stratstone trying to tell me their 07 997 with 40ish k miles at £51k was the cheapest in the country (yeah right do they not look on line there's about 200 for sale at the moment) - yet similar cars are going into the trade for £38kish just how much do these dealers want to make??!
I have cash waiting for the right car Manual etc no hassle sale and ill pay more than the trade are offering. I'm just not giving top money and dropping 10k plus over night.

I'd like either Black or Silver, poss Grey, Black Leather (dark grey at a push), Chrono, Manual under 30k miles any other bits are a bonus. Actually what options are really a must?!
I'd love the LSD rear diff, not fussed about Carbon Brakes as I doubt I'll be tracking much as I race bikes for that kick. Wouldn't mind -20mm suspension as they look a little high stock?
Main thing for me is buying right, I dropped £18k in 18 months on a RS4 once and that's just too much. I can invest that sort of money else where thanks very much. 5k a year depreciation is just about bare-able, not that I can't afford more because I can its just silly. End of day money doesn't grow on tree's as they say so why just flush it down the pan and paying the ludicrous dealer prices (compared to what they are prepared to buy them for in the first place) is daft in my eyes. I'm in the trade myself we just don't get involved with car sales as such so I know how it works.
