As another data point, this looks lower mileage (just), higher spec, replacement clutch and tyres and up for less money:

Not to barge in but that's a sloppy effort at selling a car. Sparse text, plus zero effort in the picture department.
Nothing puts me off more than the random car park snap plus the soapy-suds-just-washed driveway shot.

IMHO.
Not to mention spelling Boxster wrong in the auction title rolleyes

It seems Boxsters don't wear 130k miles as well as I had hoped, the search continues...

Not the ones registered before 23rd March 2006, it is £305 for them.

Yes, "these" 2.7 Boxsters really are £520 per year
A 2.7 manual on 18" wheels, pushed the CO2 to 229g/km, so if registered after 23rd April, just over the 225g/km threshold, and £520

Mine was registered 10 days after the threshold date :-(

But still worth every penny...

And I as miffed at £245 to tax the 996 for a year, everything else I've owned has been a classic and I have company cars so having to actually pay to drive it is a shock laugh

My poverty 986 (2000) resting after her recent euro trip (more than 900miles, not sure? did not check my clock as usual) laugh

Luxembourg - > Strasbourg - > Notre Dame du Haut

(Hoenheim Gare by Zaha Hadid)

Some local french porker in Strasbourg

What a trip...had a chance to drive Audi A1 (1.4) too, fantastic car -suprisingly- but nothing replaces flat 6 hooliganism... hehe

Well the cost of the trip so far, was left rear indicator light. Something like 15.00 GBP ? (not too bad so far but one never knows biggrin)

Would love to do another one in Germany soon which might follow;

Wolfsburg (VW) -> Leipzig (BMW) -> Stuttgart (Porsche)

There's also this. Shares in a brave pill manufacturer recommended.

Suspect it'll 'only' need heads. But at that mileage, may benefit from a proper rebuild, suspension, clutch, etc...

In which case, you may as well buy something like this: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2017...

Holy moly that looks bloody lovely.

Which brings me nicely to - I trust you have all seen Jethro Bovingdons personal 996 on YouTube? It's just like that, ropey old 996 with aero kit, noisy exhaust, sorted suspension, stone chips galore and some nice wheels. Perfect.

I actually really, really, really like that one you've linked to!

I'll have to check that out. That sounds like my sort of car and reminds me of poppobangbang's 996. Stone chips are cool. These cars are meant to be driven, not sit in the garage! Spotted a set of 18" 964 Turbo split rims on the bay recently that'd look quite cool - but they were well over a grand!

I love zenith blue. Early 3.4 with dual row IMSB and ferrous pistons, GT3 kit and IMO the nicest period-correct wheels. Alas, don't have the money or the space. And I'm supposed to be seeing a mortgare advisor next week.

My neck of the woods as well, I have to agree it looks like perfect spec 996 for me. Damn I wish you guys hadn't of linked that its going to nag away in the back of my mind now. I am also saving against the house and I think the mrs would brain me if we bought yet another car (4 between 2 of us one of which has only been driven twice in 2 years, gulp).

That 996 is esquisite! The early 996 has really come of age and look so much better now than when they first appeared.

Will have to experience a 996 at some point. However, for now, I'm really tempted by the exhaust bypass mod on my 986...

I know Jethro's has much more than that on the exhaust front, but I'm now convinced I need a louder exhaust in my life.

Ropey old 996 that was poppopbangbang's previous car - don't believe it was 'ropey' at all, Jethro says he got the paint sorted, so I suspect it's really rather nice now.

To play devil's advocate, I would be really careful with the blue 996. It does look like the owner has done very low-miles, and if it did only cover OPC every two year oil change and similar inadequate servicing suggestions, might be an expensive job on top of the nearly 20k asking price. rolleyes

For me Aerokitted car with amber light doesn't look as nice as clear lights.

But that can be fixed easily albeit not cheap (along with Sports seats).
