I'll hopefully speak to them about it tomorrow, genuinely interested in where this market is going. Porsche prices have been going crazy lately and I'd agree that there are some corrections to follow. I've been watching the 991 GT3 market and there does seem to be a lot of them for sale at the moment so the next month or so will be interesting.
The market could well soften in the next few months with that many cars around and it depends who sets the bar, however I don't think that the ar$e is going to drop out of the GT3 market. A well specced car could drop 20k and still return a profit making 150k sale!

Respectfully, my local OPC salesman thinks differently, and LOIs already full.

Announcement he thinks would be near end of current RS production for 991.2 GT3 (or 992 GT3 if that is what you want to refer it as).

Respectfully I think salesmen know st and this has been proven time and time again. Unless he's Andreas brother and he's decided for sales as a profession based on insider information. I think he just wants you to stick around with him.

I've also logged a LOI for the next RS whatever that may be but I know it's worth nothing in terms of knowing when it will be exercised (or be rejected for no reason for that matter)

LOI are worth about as much as used toilet paper. People may as well tell their OPC that they want every new GT model for the next 20 years

Yes, I will probably agree with you that most salesman don't know their st. However, this salesman would not accept an LOI from me so was not interested in me sticking around with him. All I am saying is I wouldn't discount a 991.2/992 in the near future, despite what Apollo says.

Well... for what it's worth, Solihull had three GT3s in the showroom a couple of weeks ago. Today on the Porsche.com website they seem to have one. Have they sold 2? Maybe whoever is going in to Solihull could check.
Can't see 991.2 GT3 or RS until 2017/2018. They would be backing them up too much together and the differences would be tweaks which I don't think GT3 is all about.
Mind you ... what do I know

IMHO a lot of jelly legged owners worrying that their chunky overs are vapousing, for what it's worth, still driving mine every day (6,600 miles) and lowest advertised price well over what I paid, happy days clapbiglaugh

This is proving to be quite an amusing thread.....especially the cloud cuckoo comments from certain hopefuls trying to convince themselves despite the election result Armaggedon has arrived along with the financial meltdown and these cars will trade at list........scratchchinhehe As if.

Even the prospect of trading as low as at what the list price should have been I.e £125k is near impossible, especially taking into account a gen 2 is unlikely and IF there is one, this will be a considerable time away. Meanwhile a 59 plate 09 GT3 is up at £119k at an OPC.

Yes, there are a fair number of 991s for sale as expected, including the black £185k one, although several appear to have recently sold.

Don't forget good spec OPC 991 GTS retail at a mind boggling £100k.......whilst a decent package, this car is light years away from the GT3 on ability.

With some recent easing of the price, now could even be a good time to buy for those 'hopefuls' as usual doing all the talking and sitting on the sidelines..........driving

LOL .... that's the funniest comment of this whole thread "now could even be a good time to buy for those 'hopefuls'".

Okay, its pretty clear you are an owner and talking up the market. Fair enough, you want to protect the residuals. But your argument is pretty p*** poor mate.

No car has sold anywhere near £185k. Most I have heard is £169k. If anyone who has recently purchased one here above that, then please share the details.

Just because an OPC has put an 09 GT3 at a stupid price is irrelevant to 991 GT3 prices. Go find a trade bid for your car and then come back and report !

Everyone was saying the 911 Virgin car should sell quickly as it is well priced. Well, its still there !

If you were a potential buyer, the question I have is why would you buy at these ridiculous overs when clearly prices are moving down ?

What is so stupid about suggesting that the list price should have been £20-£25k higher when cars have evidently changed hands at £50k above list .???

they have not changed hands £50k above list, the high spec cars listed at £128k list (more if CTS) which are the £169k RRP cars now (As none seem to sell at £185k)

The 911 V car is market value atm and it's not Sold !!

YOu just get the normal people saying "If I have the money I would buy that" lol same old crap.

we could be looking at £25k overs 1/2 what you state which is still amazing and great for owners who got them at RRP.

I would say a price correction in a few months now there are a load of cars est £149k for a high spec one.
If they don't sell by Sept then a bigger correction.

Still no one can rubbish that gain.

confused There is nothing stupid in that. As most people have pointed out, at £100k list the car was a bargain, and Porsche could have sold out the entire run at a higher price.

Premium back down to 20-30k. Plenty of cars to choose from so anyone waiting for more than this has no chance of shifting their car. No reason to think it won't be hovering around list within the year when it's not the newest shiniest wheels any longer.

The UK market was out of quilter with the r.o.w.
The adjustment is inevitable - market forces

The 1st part is probably true, the 2nd part does not validate the 1st.

I may be an owner but I have no interest in talking the price 'up'.......mines a keeper.....the capabilities of this car never cease to amaze not just me but most who actually own and use the car as opposed to the tyre kicking dreamers......biggrin:

Seems a number of dreamers have more of a vacuous interest in attempting to talk the price 'down'....good luck with that.......laughable really as if a group of randomers on the internet could influence the mighty market.....hehe

Oh yes.....that reminds me......and what happened to the recently advertised Bournemouth OPC and Scottish OPC cars.......former up at £180k, latter was it £169k?

They have sold.
