How do you know there will now be 400-500?
he don't, I am not hearing anything or any extra cars, people are being told about 2016 allocation now and thus new people are saying they have a car and were not told before as they did not get a so called 2015 car which will now going into 2016 delivery dates anyway.I doubt we will ever know true numbers as normal.
only thing seems less 981 SPyder numbers and a few more GT4 numbers I would guess at no more than 50 more cars max more like 1 per OPC extra so 35 more cars to offset the cut 981 Spyder numbers.

Good to hear that some people will be getting their cars earlier than expected or even a car that was not looking likely even next year.
The only people who will not be happy are those looking for a quick buck.
Good news to start a Bank holiday weekend for you guys a little down the list :-)

I received a phone call from my Porsche Zentrum today that I can order a GT4! It's like christmas as a little child! I was 6. on the list and my dealer said no chance but he said some people dropped out and now I can order and get the car in december. Extremely happy! Was very close to bought a 987 Spyder last week!

I am in the camp of thought that there will be only be about 200 cars or same as 991 gt3.
If my car is the 2 nd wave then it is being built end of year then maybe gt4 and Spyder production will cease altogether early next year to make way for 982.
Who knows but IMHO I do not think there will be 400 cars plus if you take an average of 6-7 cars per opc times ,what is it now 35 opc equats to circa 200-250 cars

So in the last 3 months I have gone from maybe getting a gt4 next year to a confirmed SPYDER ( first on list)then yesterday a confirmed gt4 order end of year.My spec comes in at just under £70k .red with silver wheels, leather interior, buckets ,red seat belts, xenon pdls, sound plus and phone prep.
Does the £1300 leather option equate to a full leather interior?also is the 2 zone Aircon essential over the standard Aircon for cabin comfort?

This is interesting, a couple of German guys pit their new 991 GTS and GT4 against each other. They are speaking in German but the outcome on track doesn't need any translation.

Was that not a 991 4 GTS?https://youtu.be/qVWKgbZZNTM

Were you not trying to convince me that the Spyder was going to be the superior car to the GT4 a few weeks back (on a different thread)? Passive suspension, lighter, Walter Rohrl is getting one, better on the road etc,etc... Why the change of heart ??itsybitsy said:

AC is just an on and off switch, while 2 zone is daft you only get climate with it !Does the £1300 leather option equate to a full leather interior?also is the 2 zone Aircon essential over the standard Aircon for cabin comfort?
leather still gives you all the alantara bits :-) a must have imo.

Despite the GT front bits on the Cayman, I think in reality and in real world driving the GT4 and Spyder are going to be closer than most people think.....![driving](/inc/images/driving.gif)
on the road yes, get it on track even for fun just a couple of times a year and the Spyder will be annoying and will kill tyres in 4 or 5 laps.![driving](/inc/images/driving.gif)

That may very well be true, but aren't the cars quite different in their aim ?![driving](/inc/images/driving.gif)
I am interested to hear how perspective owners of one car would be entirely happy owning the other. I think if I did not get a GT4 I would look at a Lotus Exige V6 Cup or a second hand GT3 etc. A soft top wouldn't be on my list personally because I am not a massive fan of them.
I understand how you could like both types of car and own both, but are they necessarily a like for like car ? If I was in the market for a Spyder I am not sure that I would consider a GT4 as obvious completion for my purchase.
Not trying to ruffle feathers here I am just trying to work out if my criteria and thought process is unusual when purchasing a new car.
