We have just sorted this on my 991. Our daughter is 4.75ys at 100cm and our son is 2.5yrs at 88cm.

Both seats are isofixed in place. We have the MaxiCosi Rodifix for my daughter and the Britax Advansafix III Sict Group 1,2,3.

Both are a very snug fit with no movement. They also recline.

Our daughter sits behind me and I'm just over 6ft tall and she has plenty of leg room. My wife is 5'2" and our son sits behind her - it's a bigger chair but he is very comfortable. We all went out in it together for the first time yesterday and it was the happiest the kids have been in a car for ages - they even fell asleep!

I will post some photos tonight.

Just a random thought after wandering around the local OPC event, seeing the kids' seats fitted to some of the cars, and pondering one of the reasons I sold mine, I think Porsche are missing a trick here.
The rears in a 911 must rarely be used by grown adults because they just don't fit & most countries require a child seat of some sort by law.
They're held in by three bolts & a bit of Velcro.
Customers who want to carry their kids in the back have to undergo the merry-go-round of trialling various seats.
The kids legroom ends up compromised.
You usually end up binning the rear uprights anyway.

In which case the rears are really not fit for purpose if you can't carry adults or kids without compromise.

So why don't Porsche allocate a few design engineer hours and design and sell:
Rear seats as standard that secure with isofix, but pop out easily to facilitate,

A rear facing stage 1 system like the Maxi-Cosi easy base thingy, inter-changeable with:

A next stage Kiddy cell which again would secure using the isofix but designed from the outset to give a good recline angle & legroom & comply with child seat regs.

They could even sell upgraded rear seats, who wouldn't spec lightweight carbon rear buckets if they were available?

Is there any leg room for the kids? Looks so tight back there.

I’ve got a 4 year old and a 6 year old in Porsche car seats in the back of my 997 coupe... works just about as long as I push the seat forward (I normally drive with it fully back). That set up is tolerable, but I wouldn’t want to do it for trips longer than 30 mins or so (either for my sake or that of the child behind me!)

Considering something more practical (E63, Panamera or similar) but every time I drive the 997 I fall in love with it all over again... it’s going to be a tough call!

Good idea. It would seem child seats could fit more easily if the regular seats came out first. And doesn’t sound like a tonne of engineering.

I have a 997 and found the BeSafe iZi Comfort X3 fits pretty well, 9-18kgs. The base is small and works with the rear seat in the 997.
Better still when I remove the backrest and seat base and the child seat will sit lower and slightly further back, which all helps the legroom situation for the front seat passenger...

(Sorry, not a pic of it in the car, which would have been more helpful!)
