300kg sounds like an awful lot to loose. I wonder where it all is? Im guessing an extra 30 on luxury front & rear seats, maybe 10 for aircon compressor etc, 10 for general insulation, maybe 20 on glass rather than perspex. Just made all that up so it's a wild guess... around 70kg there or so. What about the rest?

I was talking to Adam's dad (Mike) at Vmax about the weight of the Yellowbird. He reckoned it weighed about 1200 kg, although I heard that Yellowbirds weigh under 1100 kg, does anyone know different?
Adam's Yellowbird has carbon front wings and carbon doors which wasn't the norm I believe. It does have carpet though which makes it more luxurious than my car!!

In reality its more like 1200kg, i mean people spout out lightweight claims and bhp claims but they are most of the time over ambitious and grossly inaccurate imho.
The CTR is about as light as you can make a 911 without going extreme racer.
Like said previously we have the CF Doors, Wings and hood. And then absolutely nothing by way of interior equipment, no radio, aircon,(we do have a ciggie lighter though) we dont even have fog lights. Its bloody brill imho.
UV good luck with your conversion, sounds like a great project. And i look forward to comparing the two cars in the next Vmax. If you can though, i would make your car narrower, because the wider fenders seriously affect acceleration at higher speeds.
all the best

Pah, lardy, I've driven what is acknowledged to be the lighest 911 (factory) built at 789kg & ok more plastic than a Baywatch girl but it wasnt that extreme...
Ha ha no thats a lie it was like being sat in an oil drum with someone beating the out side with a baseball bat! lovely jubbly tho.

Alex,
789kg is amazing, what did the car feel like?(Other than incredibly light obviously )
adam
Noisy, peaky, nearly 8k rpm of unsilenced howling screamertastic lump= absolutly glorious
Johnny- yours in comparison is a Maybach vs an (original) Mini Cooper S!
You do have to try an early special 911 to see what I mean really, a 911R is similar & around 800KG, ok worth a fecking fortune, but hey only say 4 to 6 993RSs worth
