GT3 vs tt is a discussion talking about awesome cars(which ever you prefer)..an automatic car doesnt really belong on the same forum..

With statments like that no wonder everyone is ammused, thread started off by saying how much i like my tip, then Kayc comes along and says your car is shite. lets hope he never loses a leg.

Out of interest, if someone spends alot of time in the car in traffic, why on earth cant it be a porsche?

Its not like the porsche has to be on track day in day out. Its quite happy sitting chugging along in traffic.

Why cant i have a nice car if i have to spend time in traffic? If i wanted a mercedes to sit in traffic, id be a bloody taxi driver

Coz a Porsche in traffic isnt a nice car..its a pain in the @rse in that environment relative to a good town car..same as a porsche going quick on the road or track is awesome..a cab isnt.

And what is there about a Porsche that makes it a nasty car in traffic? I've had XJR's and an SL500 which have lovely auto boxes and the Porsche tip is no worse. In fact it's better because you have the manual option.

That's the great thing about a tip. Great in traffic and great through the twistys. Try and do the twistys in an old diesel barge. Whoops, sorry, you can't can you.

A porsche in traffic?Where do i start...Too low down, clutch too heavy, brakes under servoed, rear wiper doesnt work properly(no wash wipe),pre 996 the heater and ventilation doesnt work, every other city road user hates you coz its a porsche ..and the engine sweats like a scouser in dixons if you dont move for 10 mins in the summer...im sure other cars can do a better slow urban job than that?

I have to say two things. Firstly I agree with kayc as I have to commute from North London to the City every day. The fact the Porsche doesn't have an arm rest really bugs me and it's just not comfortable enough for me....so in the end I had to get a Lexus as well.... Secondly, I have laughed a great deal at the comments on this thread. Can there be anybody else on this site more aggressive and cutting than kayc...??

kayc: This whole discussion is about tips and one of your negatives to a Porsche in traffic is the clutch is too heavy.
I give up.
I can't argue with logic like that.

Tip 996 Turbo is fantastic in manual - only had manual 911's before and was a bit unsure - great fun though and would definately get another. Takes some getting use to. Auto is great when I'm stuck in traffic on the M1.

I still dont see the logic of why i cant have a porsche

Mine is tip - no stiff clutch issues. Its low down - Why is that an issue?. I have a 996, and the targa roof or air con is perfect in the summer. Havent noticed any adverse behaviour towards me because im in porsche - this is london, everyone is a cnut on the road, regardless of what car you drive

Point taken by muswell re. the armrest though - does sort of force a gangsta lean
