GT2 is a turbo with more power, less weight, and rwd only, suitable for crossing vast distances very quickly and comfortably but still 'exciting' (much like swimming naked with a shark would be 'exciting')

GT3 is a stiffly sprung, high revving, naturally aspirated, track day weapon still very useable on the road

GT3RS is as above but stiffer, harder, more track biased

None of them is anything like a 3.2, things have moved on a great deal

Obviously never driven any of the above for any length of time then. Nothing is like a 3.2, well maybe closest to Porsche tractor. Very agricultural. Quality antique wooden feel.

Lots of usual bullshit on this thread...is it grip?is it tracton? etc.Bottom line is simple..a 4wd car has the ability to travel quickly in poor conditions easier than a 2wd car.Hence all top rally cars that drive in really poor conditions are 4wd..they get more grip and have the ability to deliver the power to the road.Mitsubishi and Subaru have spent millions to produce awesome 4wd systems for that reason.A gt2 in the wet is a handful whereas a tt is probably one of the safest cars of any in those conditions. So forget the play on words ,if its minus 2 and pissing with rain leave the gt2/gt3/csl in the garage and use your spare tt because it will be a lot quicker and a lot safer.

Ah, the normal kayc approach , its all bullshit till I speak.....

No one was disagreeing with the point you make, but you may have felt that someone was questioning your motives and buying criteria, which we all know gets you all aroused. Nothing worse than being predictable...

clapclap clap Oh dear KC, it's the old "bull in a china shop" approach every time with you isn't it ? Take the time to read my post and (as Housemaster politely pointed out) no one is actually disagreeing with you. I'm merely saying all wheel drive doesn't allow you to defy the laws of physics. No play on words here, simply put lateral grip and traction are two different things.

As you have said hundreds of times on this forum a 996 TT is undoubtedly quicker than a 996 GT2 or 3 on give and take roads in the wet (and with me driving either of them, probably in the dry too !)

KC..................He's great isn't he ? Or perhaps that should read he grates doesn't he ?
