The Smarttop relays have their fans but are pricey if bought new. You can get some of this functionality for free if you simply bending pin 18 on the OEM relay.
You have to keep your finger on the button and ensure that the handbrake is on just enough to light the warning light but if you are happy with that, you can now raise and lower your top while in motion.
Don't try it when you are going too fast though, esp. not if into wind and the normal precations should apply if you have a flexi rear window and it's too cold.

Happy to say bought some poverty pork for the Mrs 40th Birthday.
It's a Y plate, 2.5 boxster, 40K, Full Porsche Service history - and other than a few stone chips is absolutly mint.
Mrs Y3K is loving it, constantly has the roof down and I've only managed to blag one drive in it myself and that was only to drop her of at the hotel on the night before we got married.
Only thing that I would like to do is replace the Head Unit for something that is more ipod friendly - any advice / suggestions much appreicated.

Think we may have found out why the air con wasn't working.....
Unbelievable the ammount of muck that came out, thats only a fraction of it on the floor!
Would have been a quite a straight foreward job if only one bumper screw hadn't rusted itself well and truely in, and appeared to be made from Kyrptonite.

Oh & I paid for fitting as was only £30 but it was really easy as the replacement literally just plugged in with same fitments & only extra thing needed was an aerial adapter. When fitting slide out Heater controls from above as this gives you loads of space (only held in with top 2 Philips screws) & surround clips off.

I did mine last weekend - same situation, condenser failed in the same place too (on both side). Unbelievable the ammount of muck that came out, thats only a fraction of it on the floor!

It's nice to have working air-con again
Latest news on our T reg 2.5 Tiptronic with 65,000 miles:
MOT time - passed with a couple of advisories.
Car required work on exhaust and suspension bushes - wife confirms £900 invoice waiting for me at home
I knew the suspension fix was going to be £500 in parts - I'll update later when I get home.
Car feeling like new.

£500 for suspension bush parts alone, are you sure?
Unfortunately "yes".After last year's MOT we had an advisory 'small cracks in both front lower suspension bushes'.
The bushes cannot be replaced as they are an integral part of the arms.
Each arm is £229.51 (£459.02 + VAT in total).
I had a look at the old arms and the bushes were in very poor condition.
Couple of exhaust gaskets £2.24 + 6 x exhaust bolts £15.36 = 6 x exhaust nuts £23.04.

I saw that system in Halfords the other day. I thought it would be cheap/rattly thing, but it's pretty solid.Only thing stopping me buying an iPhone docking radio, is the imminent release of iphone5 and it's new connector. There will be lots of people needing a new system to accommodate the new plug!
