I got a £333 quote :-) no tracker needed and market value.
Mine come it circa £300 ! £72k value no tracker!but insurance prices change all the time so need to wait until I get a delivery/collection date and then look for insurance a month beforehand.
My spyder was only £240!
Not to worried about what the value could be as long as I don't loose any money so no point in insuring it for what it could be!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only 50 year old getting one of these. One of the few advantages of getting older(-:
My Aventador was only £600 to insure last year.

I keep telling my dealership that they shouldn't be looking after existing customers only, because they are likely to be old and crusty and the future is young buyers like me that will be loyal buyers over a much longer length of time biggrinwink

Its all hugely dependent upon postcode and also the value you assign makes quite a difference (and if agreed or market). When I moved out of the countryside and into a big city centre my motor insurance premium almost trebled and that was the best quote after shopping around. Same person, same age, same car/value, same driving history - just a postcode change!

Insuring a car for £70k (the insurance companies likely assumption of market value) vs an agreed valuation of £100k is likely to add a big chunk to the premium too - afterall their payout in the event of a claim would then be 40% higher.

So people saying I insured my GT4 for £300 or £3000 - its all a bit meaningless unless you have know to the insurance companies underwriting risk matrix.

Agreed with postcode etc but as per my premiums only an extra £100 to insure a £110k Gt3 v £70k gt4!
Also I find brand new cars are cheaper than 2nd hand and limited editions cheaper than main stream models!
So value although adds premium it's not the driving factor more postcode, brand risk of accidents/theft and age/ history of insured

Only 'over 50'! Just a young lad! I'm 66. The car will be keeping garage space with my bus pass! I'll try Saga too.

Staggered by the tiny premium. Great for you but makes zero sense for any insurer. That policy has huge loss written allover it.

Not true yes the car has a value but it's a known value but the young lad in his fiesta ST drives like an idiot and ends up on a pedestrian filled pavement is an unknown loss and could run into millions, also fords are more likely to be stolen etc!
So it's not about the value ! I mean house values are higher but your insurance is determined by postcode/risk and not so much value!

Yes, I could never fathom it to be honest, I was told by my insurer that another factor was people who drive/own super cars such as Ferrari's Lambos etc tend to not drive them and averaged about 1k miles per year usually in good weather so relatively low risk.
My track day car was a v6 Exige until recently it'll be interesting to see how the premium compares to the GT4..£600 for the Lotus inc 6 track days, let's see what the say about the Porsche.

I've been told by one insurer they will do their very best to replace the car like for like for up to two years and if they can't find a suitable car then they will pay the invoice value - is that about right? Or should I be asking them to pay an agreed value i.e. 100k?
On a car like this I would be seeking an agreed valuation.
We had this issue of agreed valuation on the 991 GT3.......most insurers including Mannings would not insure a new vehicle for an agreed value over list.....only at over 1 year old. So the only real option was to keep a record and proof of comparable sales values and up the insurance value accordingly although whether this would be sufficient for a higher than list payout should a total loss claim arise remains to be seen.

Interestingly ive just got off the phone to Mannings and they will accept insuring for 'Mkt' value of the car but as you say not on an agreed valuation basis if that makes sense

Being quoted nearly 2k for insurance, which is ridiculous as the car I am replacing only cost me £1200 and it was a dbs which is far more expensive to sort out .

Mannings just quoted me £3749!! So I won't be taking a policy out with them

I'm down to Admiral and Aviva Distinct being the most competitive at £1300 mark (admiral doesn't require a tracker but Aviva has some nice perks to its policy)

I found Admiral and Aviva the most competitive so far. What are the perks with Aviva?

Nearly 4k, assuming you're not 19 with 11 points, talk about polar opposites
