I am surprised nobody has ever mentioned the dark blue metallic which I think looks good so do I assume nobody else likes it and I would have probs on resale if I order it?
It's a nice colour , looks virtually black in flat light and then sparkly navy in sunlight , nearly ordered my 991 C2S cab in it , but not sure it will look right on a GT3 as you'll loose all the contrast points & as such the car will look a little flat IMHO - I think I'm going Silver , no White , no silver , oh hang on it does look good in white , but white's a bit chav and dated : so Silver .... But the white is more impactive ......... UghhhhEdited by RSVP911 on Sunday 16th June 11:27

I think Dark Blue metallic is a really nice 911 colour, but I'm not sure it's a really nice 911 GT3 colour. You might says the same about Agate Grey (or Rhodium Silver) which will probably be my chosen colour. As good as white looks, in 3 years' time I think there will be quite a few white GT3s on the market, whereas at most a handful of Dark blue (or Agate Grey) metallic cars, so choosing an unusual colour could be good or bad.
I think you should choose your preferred option and don't worry too much about residuals!

Oh I couldn't agree more re that colour - perfect with Silver wheels & PCCB's:http://www.porsche.com/microsite/porsche-code/?c=/...
I'd buy one second hand in that colour.

Congratulations , join the list of people with an agonising wait - Like your spec , personally I'm avoiding club sport spec as I just think it's a bit silly really , especially on a car that will spend any real time on a road (get it in an RS though) - BTW I'm trying to decide which silver to choose ( unless I go down the white route) - did the dealer mention which silver they thought was on the car in the Chris Harris video ?Spec so car is:

I think if you aren't going to track it regularly then not having the Club Sport package shouldn't be a problem.Spec so car is:

My understanding is that the Club Sport 'bits' are sent to the dealer to fit, so I'm still hoping I might be able to order the car with the (free) Club Sport package but not have it fitted, keeping the pieces to give to a future owner.
I'm guessing it won't be that easy though!

They are trying to find out for me but think its GT Silver. Love the car in the CH videosidicks said:

This sounds a good idea but doubt it will be possible. My understanding is that the Club Sport 'bits' are sent to the dealer to fit, so I'm still hoping I might be able to order the car with the (free) Club Sport package but not have it fitted, keeping the pieces to give to a future owner.

On the configurator, Rhodium Silver appears substantially darker than GT Silver, so I'd be surprised if the car in CH's video was GT Silver.cf: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ...six posts from the end.

ahh...just in case you missed it..Porschecraig did a comparo of the three recent "991" Silvers...

I saw this but I'm skeptical - on these pictures the GT Silver is supposedly the one in the middle, which appears materially darker than Rhodium Silver (ie totally the opposite to the configurator).....cf: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ...six posts from the end.

I dont think you can go off the Configurator. Anyone else know what the Chris Harris car colour was? jonnywalker46 said:

Not in isolation, but it would be surprising if the relative darkness / lightness of two colours was reversed compared to real life!I am hoping to see the colours in the flesh before choosing (but if the Chris Harris car is Rhodium Silver then I'm now favouring that over Agate Grey).

I saw a Rhodium silver in the flesh on a 2s on Saturday and looked a lot lighter than GT. I just can't decide too many slivers / greysI am hoping to see the colours in the flesh before choosing (but if the Chris Harris car is Rhodium Silver then I'm now favouring that over Agate Grey).

Agree - agate will be too dark to bring out the detailing - go on ditch it I am hoping to see the colours in the flesh before choosing (but if the Chris Harris car is Rhodium Silver then I'm now favouring that over Agate Grey).

Where was that? I was told there are no cars and no factory Rhodium colour samples in the UK, as it's a 2014 colour - MY starts July.sidicks said:

If you are ordering buckets you may as well have the free clubsport package. OPC has told me the cage comes fitted but harnesses and fire extinguisher etc come boxed. I will only ever use the car on the road and they have told me they will take it out for me FOC. May as well have it stored safely as it may appeal to a future owner come resale

Having any car I own going into the garage leaves me very uneasy knowing who might be working on it so the thought of someone disconnecting and clattering metal bars around the cabin for some potential additional resale is not that appealing to me.May as well have it stored safely as it may appeal to a future owner come resale
