I think it is always a good idea to try something new - so well done for that.

Because I have to quickly scan to foruns to see if there is anything I can help with or need to respond to - I would find one list easiest to follow - but that may not suit others.

Would it not be possible to add one more category - namely all the Porsche posts - then readers could either select all of them - or just follow the topic areas they are interested in - this way everyone would be happy.

Not getting on here often, I've had fun catching up with the threads and could not believe so much commentary has been expended on this. Really can't see the problem...Old structure was fine and so is the New structure...

Imagine if Porsche took the same approach ... we would have 'half missed some great cars & features ;-)

Just leave it as is and concentrate on the "real" things that matter..like getting out more and driving :-)

Ultimately, each of us can vote with our feet and move on elsewhere, but Hey, life's far tooooooo short.
To be fair, you're hardly a prolific poster.....

Its fine in my opinion. Old style was fine, new style was fine. Ultimately, this is a light hearted internet forum to talk about car stuff in spare time.

It's provided free and its only a small change, so I'm happy either way to be honest. smile

Absolutely.

Else we'd be living in North Korea.

Hopefully the donuts who don't know how to favourite a website have now learned...and if they wish the old format, as I do, they favourite the top line Porsche forum.

Sorted....apologies to donuts!

No need to apologise for spectacularly missing the point.

Well done, have a donut.

If prefer the old format.

Is there any evidence to suggest we're even being listened to ?

The outcome is Garlick asked for feedback.

It'll keep bubbling away until there's a response.

Looks like we'll live with it for a while longer and review again next year.

Thanks to Ric for nudging me on this, I'm very forgetful now I've passed 40.

I do want keep this as it is for now, with the encouragement being to use just the general thread if that is what you prefer. Like a friend of a friend at a party you don't like, just ignore them.

While the sub-sections aren't (and never will be) as popular they are attracting the odd post and prove to be useful to some. I guess I could name a few forums across the site where traffic is low (sat navs, advanced driving, some of the one-make sections) but they continue even with low use.

Yes we started as a TVR (in the main) site so I take the point on board that the TVR section will always work better split out that way, but nowadays Porsche, BMW and Aston are the most popular and in time the news. classified and forums will work together better providing a better platform for fans of those cars.

Is it a case that I don't listen? No not at all, I just want this to be available as an option even if it withers and dies in 2014 through chronic lack of use. As it stands we haven't seen (honestly) a loss of traffic, in terms of page views, to the Porsche area. Comments we'll add as a measure to our analytics. If it does drop and wither, so be it I was wrong. If it manages to survive in a lowly fashion in the shadows of PG then fine.

Unless you are interested in the "prospective GT3...." tome, there is really little point looking at the General section at all now, regardless of how adept you are at organising your multi-media device, IMHO?

Just off for taters and doughnuts for brekky now.

You are of course entitled to your opinion but are clearly very much in the minority.

Yip, my opinion is exactly that, I'd rather be in the elite than running with the dogs.
