It was a great day to see some serious metal and many great people, too much stuff to see, too many people to talk to, too little time!! Didn't even get to check out the awesome 928 - yikes!

Shame it was freezing cold and a bit spitty but pre-hypothermia I had a great time, The Carrera GT looked even better than I'd imagined, completely brilliant in every detail and a very personable owner: what more could anyone ask for?!

Also good was that some of the faces are becoming familiar + I have met sleep envy now and he didn't look at all tired. missed Soovy and Blairout tho .

Rob (rs15671 - dodgy torsion bar 3.2) do you live in Canbs or Cambridgeshire? If the latter PM me, I'm quite interested in Porsche mechanicals and may be able to assist. Nice to see the guys from Bourne too: we'll have to arrange a Cambridge summer meet or two

Hi Globs,

Great to meet you too.

We're in Bourn (cambs) by the way not Bourne (lincs).

I think the guy with the torsion bar issue was from Huntingdon.

Globulator, A993Lad, SpeedYellow,

Great to meet you guys. Despite the weather, which is awesome today (strangely enough), I really enjoyed the scene.

Globulator, you wouldn't be able to drive the GT without first removing the detachable hard tops - you're too tall!

A993Lad - It took me 22 minutes and 37 seconds to get back safely to my home - you surely could not have beaten me to your home in Cambridge??

SpeedYellow, I've actually met somneone who has wasted more money than I have on cars, and your bonnet episode with the Sagaris trumped my own bonnet raising thrill in a Mark 1 Capri.

Be good to meet see you guys next time......

Regards

Carl.

p.s. to the guys who provided the excellent photos - thanks, no one would have guessed how miserable the weather was!

Carl,

Great to meet up with you, sorry to everyone else that I didn't get time to hang about for long, but had to get to Silverstone and the Autosport show as well on the day... (and who says an RS is not comfy for long drives/everyday... oh and I live in Southampton!!!).

Look forward to meeting up again next time and hopefully with better weather I'll get some more time to put names to faces!

Oh cheers Carl for reminding me on a Sunday night about where all my money went!!! lol

Cold, but not too cold.
Wet, but not too wet.

You can see how low they are here

Drivers eye line's a bit higher than a 911's front wing !

This black RS made quite an entrance, everyone's into black wheels all of a sudden, I like to think Fuch were there first.

Dear all

Vesuvius had to do some stuff at home. So he couldn't go.

He was not happy.

I will let him go to the next one.

Sorry I missed it. PROMISE will be there on 10th for bacon, beans and tea. And a good old gawp.

Carl,

Great to meet you and see your CGT at last. What an amazing motor. Not quite sure how you justify using it on UK roads though. Must be frustrating at times.

Thought you were pretty brave using it in the drizzly conditions too! My C2 tip was spinning it's back wheels occasionlly on the greasy roads durig the trip home. The prospect of 650 bhp through the back wheels, even on a car as sorted as the cgt, would be terrifying on a damp road.

There's certainly a friendly crowd gathering at the Ace each month. Perhaps we could follow brakfast with a (hopefully high speed)convoy to a suitable venue when the weather picks up a bit.

My apologies to those who were expecting me, unfortunately family matters made things awkward for me to duck out on Saturday morning (and i don't even have a wife and kids yet!) but it's all sorted now. Can't believe i missed the CGT!!!

Confirmed - Feb 10th is the next one.

Boo hiss. Had a bit of a drinky with a few peeps down the road in Chingwell and only got my arse out of bed in time to make it there to see a couple of you at err paperbag 10:50 paperbag (RM you must have rode like a girl to only just beat us there hehe )

Will have to see what's doing closer to the time of the next couple to see if we can make it before the season takes away my playtime again.
