As noone else has said yet, I will... I've placed an order for a Diesel Cayenne in September.

Not something I ever thought I would say; Porsche + Diesel (or Cayenne)! smile

We've spent months looking at "everything" and the only items that came close were the 2010 RRS and the 2011 Cayenne. We went with the diesel option as that was the only RRS we were considering so a direct comparison worked well, and it suits our needs better. In the end the reasons why we picked the KN over the RRS were we preferred the exterior, the choice of options allowed us to have just what we wanted and it was... well, more exciting. We really like the new RRS and there wasn't anything we didn't like, but for the same cost this pips it - and we do love the whole Porsche "thing". Ok so we added a few more options than we would have with the RRS but they had the choice available to do so!

Although we loved how the old one drove, we didn't like the interior or exterior and this one is like a completely different car. Yes, we've placed an order for it before driving it (as we did with a Cayman some years back!) but are confident in the brand to know we're not going to be disappointed. Oh, and it'll never go off road or on a track - like 95% of owners I guess!

Plan is to sell the 911 privately in June / July.

Interestingly the dealer configuration system was different to the public system, although it appears to be the same source. For example, for a UK car you HAVE to have a sunroof or panoramic roof, parking sensors or reverse camera & parking sensors, 100 litre tank, floor mats. The 'expresso' interior isn't on the public site but is on the dealer's, and then there are a other items that are listed but aren't yet available to order. Strange, as I would have thought everyone would use the same system. Anyway..

A final point of note is we ordered this from a dealer other than the one we purchased the last two from as a direct result of the service not being up to scratch.

classic.

They don't float my boat but it looks very good in that combo and will be interesting to hear what you think of it - I am sure they will receive rave reviews.

Looks nice (although white wouldn't be my first colour choice..).

We're just starting looking at a replacement for our current SUV and the new Cayenne certainly looks very tempting. We originally discounted the Cayenne as it just looked wrong and was poorly equipped inside but now I can see us pulling the trigger on a diesel Cayenne in the next 12 months.

PS - Cheeky question but do you mind saying what the all-in price was for your spec?

Yes, I appreciate the irony of that smile Perhaps I like the thought of a diesel, but not anyone to know!

Mind you, when I get a tree hugger saying I'm killing the planet I'll wish the badge was still there hehe

Sounds fishy to me.

It is a new colour that is on the dealer configurator but not the public. However they have physical samples in the centre.

Cost is less than the figure you have above.

What do you mean? The questions and conditions came up on the screen - it's not as if the dealer made them up!

Don't want to knock someone's new toy, but are you sure, are you really, really sure?

Belongs in the dustbin of dodgy Porsche options past...along with "ruffled leather"

The roof didn't come up when I specced on PVA a few weeks ago - although 100 litre did. Perhaps it has changed.

You don't have to have the 3rd year warranty either that is on the public system.

PS. Expresso is on public configurator, and also the stealth tax roof, mats and park assist. Just pushed my spec to £60k. My old configuartions won't load up now either - probably due to these changes.

As I said, I'm surprised the dealer system isn't identical to the public one.. although it sounds like they're in the process of being aligned.

We took the 3rd year warranty off ours as it's no difference if you purchase it now or in 2 years time.

I'm aware of the air suspension on the RRS but wouldn't really use it so didn't order on this

Walnut- shan't! That's the beauty of speccing your own car! smile

I wouldn't get one without air. Ride was infinitely better on previous gen and suspect will be the same with this one.

Yes, but the other one was much, much heavier.
