3.2 Carrera back from KDS Keltec
Discussion
I've just collected my LHD '89 3.2 Carrera from KDS Keltec in Gillingham - Kelly and Paul are exceptionally skilled decent guys, and I can't thank them enough. KDS have looked after a couple of my other cars and I decided to treat the Porsche to some of their TLC. It's done 81,500 miles and been all over Europe, but has rarely seen rain or wet roads, and is always garaged and not used over winter. So it's always been very neat and tidy, but the level of detail and quality of their work has made it look factory fresh
The front end was resprayed 4 years ago, and had new front bellows and spoiler fitted at the same time, together with a replacement windscreen. Jaz Porsche in Wembley completed a top end rebuild in September 2011 and so the engine bay was immaculate thanks to Steve and Dave's efforts
The rest of the paint on the car was original, but the cosmetic appearance of the cills, rear bumper, and rear bellows was starting to look a little tired by comparison, and the paint on the rear valance was cracking. I also only started using wash mitts and microfibre drying cloths about 2 years ago, and so for 13 years i'd washed it with sponges and chamois leathers, making lots of swirl marks
At KDS it underwent a full paint correction detail (Silver level), repainted rear bumper and side cills, new rear valance, and new rear bellows / bumper stops. Not yet fitted in the photos is a small rear tow hole cap - the body coloured cap was replaced with a correct original black one. Several tiny dings in the bodywork were removed. The wheel arches and floorpan were cleaned to remove the patchy original underseal, and retreated. KDS even polished the oil lines so it looks equally immaculate underneath too, and no rust found during the process. Finally a GTechniq coating was applied to all surfaces after the paint correction to form a protective coating, which also makes it much easier to clean and maintain
I'm pleased to recommend KDS Keltec 100% if anyone is thinking about having any bodywork or detailing done - I didn't think i'd find someone with worse (or should that be 'better'?) OCD than me

genuine question - having gone to the trouble of cleaning inside the wheel arches so that they looked cleaner than they probably were when the car was first delivered to its original owner - why re-paint them black?
Car looks absolutely fabulous, guards is by far my favourite colour for the era.
