If these things do hit £40k then I am not going to be able to resist any longer!!
unfortunately £40k i only one number they will hit on the way down to sub £20k I'd imagine there will be plenty of takers who couldn't get on with the 996 turbo lights and interior.

I don't see these at sub £20k ever. Due to numbers they might reach £25k with high miles but these look good on the outside and inside and offersuch performance.

996 turbos are heading that way, i don't think different lights will make much difference, high running costs... fuel, tax will continue to drive the prices down, there is just way to many of them to be "classics".. good news for buyers bad news for owners.. well assuming you worry about things like depreciationI'd imagine there will be plenty of takers who couldn't get on with the 996 turbo lights and interior.
Although the 997 turbo will be hit by the cost of fuel, tax etc it is held in a higher esteem - better interior, classic lights etc that's why I think it will still be more sought after and hold a higher base than the 996 turbo.
Oh and the 7t.1 is the "last turbo with a Mezger engine".

Reading this you would think the trade would be doing good deals but they wont budge so there must still be plenty of wealthy suckers buying, I had Stratstone trying to tell me their 07 997 with 40ish k miles at £51k was the cheapest in the country (yeah right do they not look on line there's about 200 for sale at the moment) - yet similar cars are going into the trade for £38kish just how much do these dealers want to make??!
I have cash waiting for the right car Manual etc no hassle sale and ill pay more than the trade are offering. I'm just not giving top money and dropping 10k plus over night.
So that's two of us looking for manual 997 turbo with cash waiting (unless I find a nice Seal Grey 996 turbo in the meantime)!I have cash waiting for the right car Manual etc no hassle sale and ill pay more than the trade are offering. I'm just not giving top money and dropping 10k plus over night.
What's you ideal spec?

So 997 turbo are getting traded for around £35-37k
Shame I'd happily give a little extra to do a private sale for a care for car (with an me getting it indie inspected)!
Hopefully a few manual cars should start popping up.

I'd like either Black or Silver, poss Grey, Black Leather (dark grey at a push), Chrono, Manual under 30k miles any other bits are a bonus. Actually what options are really a must?!
I'd love the LSD rear diff, not fussed about Carbon Brakes as I doubt I'll be tracking much as I race bikes for that kick. Wouldn't mind -20mm suspension as they look a little high stock?
Main thing for me is buying right, I dropped £18k in 18 months on a RS4 once and that's just too much. I can invest that sort of money else where thanks very much. 5k a year depreciation is just about bare-able, not that I can't afford more because I can its just silly. End of day money doesn't grow on tree's as they say so why just flush it down the pan and paying the ludicrous dealer prices (compared to what they are prepared to buy them for in the first place) is daft in my eyes. I'm in the trade myself we just don't get involved with car sales as such so I know how it works.
I'm fairly similar manual Grey, Silver or Blue with black interior with chrono and sports seats. Would take below 45k miles. Agreed on no point burning cash

LOVE the idea of a Turbo for under 40K but there is no way I would spend that kind of money on a 6-7 year old car with 90+k miles on it!
The prices of all 997 turbo will drop in a similar manor to 996 turbo. So you will be able to get a nice low mileage car for under £35k at some point, don't let age stop you buy on condition.I started the with one eye on the £40k 997 turbo, but decided to settle for a nice low mileage Slate Grey 2002 996 turbo (x50) for a lot less.
One things for sure they're both fantastic cars and great value for money as used buys.
I expect prices to hold as the 991 turbo comes out, due to a positive sentiment towards 911 turbo.
They'll then start to decline as the 997 won't be 'the current turbo'.
It'll be gentle as early 997 will be snapped up by those coming from a 996 turbo, those that didn't like the 996 turbo and those who want the last of the Metzger engined cars!
