993RS Clubsport LHD The Best Ever Porsche?..............
Discussion
Tim, good to see you yesterday and thanks for the kind words on the car mate....
I have to say you might be a little disapointed owning one after your red car, you really seemed to be flying, the noise as you disappeared out of view down pilgrims towards hawthorn bend, has to be as good as I have ever heard from a 911.

Cheers mate. I presume the 964T is an old school "nothing, nothing, nothing, OMIGOD" style turbo? (haven't driven anything like that since an Esprit a few years ago, power delivery was comical).
Yup, it was a bit of a blue touchpaper affair, but you always have the option of keeping it on boost
I drove a later 3.8 964 Turbo (FYI these 964 Turbos are known as Turbo 2s or often referred to as '965's, compared to the 930 old school 911 Turbo before it and the later 4WD 993 'Turbo 4') and third gear caught off boost was awesome. You get a real bludgeoning. Worst turbo lag I ever experienced was on a BMW 2002 Turbo though. It was the world's first production car turbo, so you could forgive it a few foibles, but even Esprits are razor sharp in the throttle response dept compared to the 2002! The only car I have put my foot down for an overtake 30 seconds BEFORE pulling out

Just had a quick read of that link- very handy! Sounds like a RS would be wasted on me (and the concept of thin panels & the wife does not compute). I assume a 964T 3.6 carries a premium over the 3.3, as would the "Works Power Kit" (lol)?
oh yeah, it was a 3.6 not a 3.8; you are right... they carry a premium as a tad more power, big red brakes and nicer wheels. not many made, so don't be scared of 3.3... very tunable... wouldn't worry about works power pack at all.

Seriously.......the multi-link fat arse wide bottom 993RS Clubsporty LHD is so very planted and gives (me) the confidence to put the old pedal to the metal with complete confidence with no fear of wiping out a Badger Sett on our English Roads...this has to be the tool for The Nurbuggering.....not clinching the starfish when you start bouncing on the rough black stuff....though the 64 has a different raw Caveman feel..if you know what I'm saying.......
My dear Carrera 'Cave' Boy. Carry on like that and I may have to reconsider your status as Porsche Club GB 964RS Register Assistant...
