It needs door panel removing and just look inside the door at the lock barrel assembly too see if the rod is connected or not i would imagine someone has forgot to put it back in place.

well I called my local OPC (I was terrified after hearing the horror stories) and they were friendly enough.

The car goes in on Thursday for them to have a look for me - the only sting is the 17 quid they charge for insuring a courtesy car..

Ah yes but if your OPC is anything like mine at least they give you a nice shiny new Porsche to drive (thrash) for the day......well that was my initial thought until I arrived to find a very nice highly spec'd Boxster (with Nav so they could demonstrate how crap the OEM system is!) only to find it was a Tip grumpy bleeding hell talk about a slug....
