GT4 as a daily driver?

I have no issue with the front spoiler,nor with engine noise .Clutch weight is an issue in traffic but not for most driving.
However whilst it can be used as a daily drive,it isn't good as a dd.There is too much tyre noise,motorway trips become tiresome.The car just wants you to drive fast ,there is no switch off mode if you will,you can't do a relaxed cruise.

I completely disagree, I could and sometimes do daily mine even with LWB, yes they are not the easiest seats to get in and out of but I wouldn't want to get in and out of any other seats either. Literally love em!!!!
Tire noise I don't find an issue, engine noise I cant get enough of "permanently have the windows down"
the only factor in not to daily the GT4 is racking up the mileage on a commute, as much as I enjoy that too it does make it more special not to.
Just drive & enjoy them as much as possible....

the older folder buckets are better seats sadly.
Lucky I still own 2 cars with those, the 918 seats look coolest and are ok for shorter trips but folding buckets win for comfort hands down.

To you maybe, for me the 918 seats are better, 3 days 1000 miles and 1 and half days on track and no complaints whatsoever. Lucky I still own 2 cars with those, the 918 seats look coolest and are ok for shorter trips but folding buckets win for comfort hands down.

Seat choice is clearly subjective and depends on your shape and use of the car.
I have sports seats in the GT3, folding GT2 buckets in the Spyder and 918 buckets in the GT4. The sports seats are fine but I find lateral support is lacking. The folding buckets are wider at the shoulders but narrower at the hips and they are less vertical than the 918 buckets. Cost came into the equation too. Imo the 918 buckets were too expensive at £1000 whereas the folding buckets were free in the Spyder....cabs must have heaters so this also ruled out the 918 buckets. In the GT4 the 918 buckets were only c £400 more than the folding buckets....a no brainer especially as they look so cool!

that is the key for me
they hold me more low down which is what you want, and not as upright so less pressure on your lower back/hips.
you should have an even pressure over the back and the 918 seats don't allow that, putting too much pressure lower down hence extra long runs the folding Buckets win by miles.
It's not a body shape issue, the 918 style are too upright full stop what ever shape one is.
918 style suit the GT4 more though and as ever for resale 918 buckets are a winner.

I have been on a full Volvo seat course (market leaders), yep we had to do it because of people taking too many days off work due to back issues.
Then the trained ones had to go out and set up 8000 company car drivers seats.
So you might say I know a little about seats.
imo the 918 seats don't give an even spread of pressure and hence you rock on your pelvis a bit.
you are looking for a neutral pelvis and for your back to take some even pressure away from the pelvis alone.
fatter people might like the 918 seats as they are wider of course at the bottom:-)
big mistakes are
1: too much lumber
2: too low
3: too far away
4: too much tilt
the 918 imo is still to upright, but the folding bucking while has a nicer tilt has no height adjust, so will only work for a few people who are the right height.
If you are the right height though it's a great bucket seat.
the 918 does have height adjust which is very handy, I am ok for about 2 hours in it, but tend to get lower back issues, while in the folding bucket I have driven back from the ring in one full stint with only toilet/petrol breaks.
of course some will like one over the other, but looking at them a bigger % would like the extra tilt the folding bucking has over the more upright design 918.

It might not be the coolest , lightest or the best for resale but i went for the stock 16 way comfort to be comfortable and it works. Also the other half is somewhat different height wise so the near fixed seats cant be set up fro both of us at the same time which is a no no. Agree the folding and 918,s have the looks though.
