Thanks for posting this 993AL. Think I might have to treat myself to one of these. Reviews I've read all seem positive and I had been thinking of splashing out £40'ish for a C-tek. Saving of almost £30 can't be bad - enough for 5 gallons of petrol and an extended weekend hoon smile

This looked good, so in the quest of buying 4 or more I sought out my nearest store and drove there specially last night only to discover that this offer was last week and they've sold out mad

Thanks anyway.

Really!? Damn.
I'm sure the website said offers start Thursday the 19th, when I looked last night. What a bummer if not.

I have used one of these for the last 12mnths and I must say it is pretty good, particularly in light of the £12.99 price. As far as I know, the insides are made by CTEK...

I bought one of these a few years ago- it lasted about 4 months. The switch was faulty. So I then bought a C-tek. And have had no problems.
IMHO you get what you pay for!

I bought 11 from Aldi @ £12.99 with a 2 year guarantee and LCD display (shows actual charge voltage) and only had a problem with one that I left outside in the rain for a couple of weeks - hardly surprising really. I did drive over one last week - the case cracked but it's still working fine.

I've just bought 4 of these from Lidl (cheers Ian wink ), with a 3 year guarantee and expect not to need to claim on it.

I have a C-Tek too and it does seem a bit better made (in terms of the case etc) but there's no way I'd have stretched to buying 15 of them! smile

No, just make sure there's no chance of the terminals shorting out, particularly the positive one needs to be kept away from the bodyshell. Careful when closing the bonnet down on the wire too, as depending on where you route it can get chafed.
