Gear section not engaged

Dear Sirs. I was wondering if anyone has had the message gear selection not engaged show up on there 996 c4s or and Porsche and if so did you find out what was the cause. Many thanks for any help.

Think you mean gear selection? Get it on mine occassionally when it doesnt go into gear. From what i am told, not a gearbox issue, but the gear stick itself with the car. This is on a TIP btw

For a start thanks for the for the spelling tip and yes its a tip.

It does it on mine when the stick itself isnt quite in the detent. Dont worry, just be more careful when you go between gears.
