What do people do with their little fob that you have to carry around with you? How do you remember to take it with you?

If I am correct it's not supposed to be on your key ring, but other than that I am going to forget it all the time. If you take it out of the big plastic case the bloody thing hasn't even got a hole in it, so you can attach it to your keyring.

Apparently a lot of owners leave it in the glove box which is what you're not supposed to do. I've only had the car for 1 week and have to repeatedly go back into the house to pick up the tracker card that I keep forgetting! I don't think there's any good solution! An extra hassle to worry about!

Keep it in your wallet?

You're definitely not supposed to keep it on the keyring or in the car as it will likely invalidate your insurance. Although, amusingly, every time I've had a courtesy car from the dealer both tracker fobs have been on the keyring - go figure.

Keep mine in wallet. Left home last week, taking 911 out for first time in a couple of weeks, without switching on. Got a call from Cobra within 400yds of home.

So that's nice.......

Done that a few times as well.
You would think that in the £940.00 Porsche VTS installation charge plus £240.00 yearly Cobra subscription that they could find a margin to supply a storage wallet.
Yet another example of Porsche's KY jelly attitude to P car owners.

The Porsche key wallet has a little pocket on the front, that's where I kept mine.

Job done.....but did cost £40 or whatever it was.

Not really difficult this one put it in your pocket.

I keep my key in secure key box along with fob, when you pick the key up, pick up the fob.

When you make a sandwich do you keep the butter in the bread bin, otherwise do you forget to butter the bread as it is not to hand

I've had my car for three weeks and forgotten fob twice already. I don't always take my wallet out. I've put a sticker with the word 'Tracker' on the centre console next to where the seatbelt fastens. Sad I know but hopefully no more calls from Cobra - who appear to call from a witheld number which is annoying.

When I had my 997 turbo my tracker fob was in a little plastic holder with cut out so I put a keyring through it and it was with key all the time (notrecommended by Cobra). Then cunningly left the spare key without fob on view so if some s**t head came in and nicked it while we were out or sleeping the tracker device would kick in and I'd get a call. Tested it once and they called almost immediately but fortunately no one every tried for real:-)

Tracker card is hidden in my wallet - 95% of the time I'll have my wallet with me (in my briefcase) as a matter of course. On other occasions I have to remember to pick up my wallet when I get my keys.

On the rare occasion I forget, a grovelling apology to the VTS tracker people on the phone is required!

Keeping the card with the key must surely have potential issues with your insurance company...

What looks like a SIM card flashes up on one of my dials. That normally reminds ME. Except when Cobra rang me the other week and I had the fob with me; the battery needed replacing. You'll get used to remembering it, like you probably wouldn't go out without your mobile phone.

pocket...easy. have used cobra for approx 2.5 years and occasionally forget it but cobra are very forgiving and never been charged extra for false call outs. most of time i keep fob by car keys in house so dont forget it. when i go away on business/holiday i also take all my fobs and car keys with me so if house was every broken in, they cant take the car...its garaged also.

I have the sim on my dash as well, can't find it in the manual what it refers to. Would anyone know?
