So last year my GT3 was worth £?.
Come to insure again, and every insurance company wants a tracker because of the value is over 49.
The old tracker is too old to re activate. As I'm probably going to sell I don't really want to spend £350 ( including 1 year subs) with Tracker. Is there other companies out there, that you lot use?
Thanks in advance.

What age is your GT3 996 I assume? Who told you the tracker was too old to re activate?

Im just going through the same issue. First 3 years I had mine, they werent interested in VTS. Now everyone wants it active. (997 GT3 RS btw)

Someone on another thread said you might have to book into an OPC to get them to talk to Corbra (?) and activate if its been inactive for a few years.

Take your pick on a search engine, Skytag etc.

There are so many now, it does not always help with insurance quotes either.

On my car policy, it did not matter if one was fitted or not?

I thought it may have done, due to the car value?

Many thanks, I'll give them a ring. All I need us the certificate to say it's fitted and working, so I can insure my car.
Tbh if some toe rag nicks it I don't wanna it back, anyway.

I had the same issue with my renewal for the 996 GT3...I've had to instal a tracker from 'tracker' last week. Unfortunately its one of the few insurers that provides a solution for my euro trips.

Funnily enough, the more expensive 3.8 RS did not need a tracker with a different insurer

Aviva underwrites Comp Car Insurance policy, and does need a tracker.
Not sure if it's the value or because it's parked outside on my drive, or a combo of both.

I was previously with CCI (Aviva) and they didnt require tracker....but wouldnt agree value of the car. Hence my change.

Now going with Manning. Agreed value, TD cover but need tracker active

Thats strange, I ensure with Aviva and they always insist on fitting a tracker, maybe its location based?

I live in North Herts, car garaged and behind electric gates.....

I spoke to Classic Line this morning, the reason for the Tracker, no garage, and South London postcode.

OK, so I normally use GoCompare to shop for insurance for my 2003 Comfort 6.2. (I'm 50 odd, clean licence, living in the shires, car always garaged, social only etc.) I just found out that my old Tracker Monitor on renewal is out of date and no longer supported. Tracker tell me I will need a new one fitted in the form of a replacement Tracker Monitor or the more expensive Tracker Locate.

My insurance runs out 31 May so I go on Go Compare to see what affect the Tracker will have on a fairly basic policy. I upgrade the value from 45 to 70 and try options with and without a Tracker fitted. I hereby submit to the group my results. Interesting that the premiums vary little.
