Just thought I would start a poll on the new GT3 with a manual vs PDK slant
You don't have to say why you made your choice but I would be very interested in seeing the results of this poll as there has been lots of talk about new porsche GT buyers being lovers of the PDK but the GT4 seems to go against that trend as we all know the demand for that car.
Also, this poll may give some guide on what will be available on the used market in a few years.
FULL DISCLOSURE: I voted for used with a manual gearbox

Really really tough choice. I'm very happy to be back in a *good* manual car again, but PDK is so flipping good, and I don't always feel in the 'driving' mood. PDK is the best of the lazy world, and a good tool if you do want to play Lewis Hamilton for 30 mins.
Pushed for answer today... I'd have to vote PDK

New.
Be interesting to see whether PDK S is a no cost option over 'manuel'.
I would pay £1500 max extra for PDK S, otherwise would go 'manuel'.
I suspect 'manuel' GT3s would residually be stronger, both clubsport and comfort specs, short and long term time frames.
Reckon new sales would be 50:50 either gearbox.

I might buy it new as manual if I can't get my hands on a 997.2 RS at reasonable money ...
define reasonable money. original list?so - if I had the cash, I'd probably be down at Porsche buying one even if I find 170-180k rather punchy for a car that imo is not really a collector car in a "normal" market (not that mine would be interesting for collectors anyway as I plan on modifying it / maybe turning it into a 997 "R" type car, so a little less in your face than the RS - definitely no Stickers and possibly only with the "ducktail" as it would not be a highspeed/Autobahn car anyway, so not all the downforce needed). I would like to find one with as many lightweight Options as possible though (incl seats, lights, PCCB)
I would not buy at the 200k+ prices a lot of them seem to be listed at - that is too much imo.
Will probably still buy one on finance as life is short etc and modify once I have paid off the finance
that was a longer reply than planned, esp has the first 5 words would have sufficed ...

I'll probably take a manual as I find PDK on the road just means I too often leave it in manual or I go like the clappers manual mode. With a stick I find I'm more sensible and can just enough the process of driving.
As great as PDK-S was, I found it rather dull. It was a huge mistake in my opinion and I think this is borne out by the popularity of both the GT4 and 911R. AP stated that some of the reasoning behind the 991.1 GT3 was to increase "bandwidth". That goes to show how GT cars were perceived before their values started going through the roof. Time to scale back the bandwidth methinks.Im purley for road trips UK and euro, love the GT4, no allocation with LOI on R which I so badly wanted so 991.2 gt3 manual for me and will spec it as close to the R as possible and prob rear wing delete if possible will be a dream come true for me and my road trip jollies if allocated ...
